.Chapter 13.

There is a huge queen bed slightly to the left of the room, closer to the huge windows with mint green curtains that are tied up by the side.

The sheets are white in colour, with grey pillows and two more that are off-white. I just love how everything matches so perfectly.

The dresser is also huge and all my clothes are already lined inside, neatly might I add.

There is a huge picture of all of us we took at the waterfall up on the wall. Also on the wall is a whiteboard which currently has "HAPPY BIRTHDAY YA BITCH" scribbled on it which Mom doesn't seem to mind at the moment.

There are triangular banners strewn across the top of the board, making everything look really cute.

A tall standing light is bent towards the direction of my bed. It looks like some inventor-ish kind of thing.

The bookshelf holds my many books, arranged in series, number in the series and according to height.

I spotted a comfortable long cushion set on a bench by the window, along with some throw pillows which I LOVE.

There is a round, little coffee table that matches everything else perfectly next to a small little couch thats diagonally placed next to the bookshelf. On that same coffee table there is a little cactus named "Kingsley" apparently.

Well I didn't name it. There was just a label stuck to it that said it.

I couldn't believe I hadn't noticed it before but there was a beautiful abstract rose on the right of the wall painted baby pink opposite the bed.

"That was done by Cody," Amber says, breaking me out of my trance.

"I designed it. If you don't like it you can just donate it or something if you wan-"

"I LOVE IT!"

I give her a hug and she awkwardly pats me on the back. "Sorry but I'm not a hugger."

"Oh whoops." I pull away. I'm constantly invading others' personal space but I don't like it when they do it whoops I'm such a hypocrite. Oh geez that's not a good thing.

"Its time for the cake come on Maddie!" Cody says, a gleam in his eyes.

"What's got him so excited?" I whisper to Emilia. Oh gosh that sounds so wrong. She realises too and we both burst out laughing.

"Anywho, he told me to keep it a secret."

"Okay then..."

We head to the kitchen, (that's finally it's own room!)there's plastic covering the floor around a table and in the middle of the table is a huge pancake-shaped cake, with a "Happy 17th Birthday Maddie!"

Cody stands behind it, holding yet another cannon-gun thing of some sort. He pulls the trigger and heart-shaped sprinkles fly out, making quite a mess. Some of them accidentally smudge the words, making it look messy but cute at the same time.

"Seriously dude, where do you find all these cannons? Care to hook me up?" Greg nudges Cody.

"I'll sell you this one for 63 bucks," Cody said.

"Deal."

And I watched as the two morons swapped cash and gun. I sighed, rolling my eyes. I'm friends with idiots.

Suddenly, someone comes up from behind and wraps their arms around me. This person is quite clearly shorter than me so I already know who it is.

"Happy birthday babe, you're finally seventeen. I swear, kids grow up so fast." Eva says.
