.Chapter 27.
The girls plus Cody and Malcolm (they just wanted to tag along) decided to come to my place after school. Malcolm doesn't usually come with us so I asked him why he was coming with us and he answered that he just needed to stay away from home at the moment.
When we entered the door, the first thing Emilia did was place her shoes that she removed outside on the shoe rack without me asking her to. I told the rest to the same, not because I mind them wearing shoes in the house but because of all the dirt and bacteria on them. I really don't want traces of all that disgusting stuff I stepped on inside my house.
She plopped down on my couch, not before she asked us to wake her up in 20 minutes since she was just taking a "power nap" but obviously we forgot and she ended up sleeping soundly for a good 2 hours. This girl can seriously sleep anywhere. One time I found her in the library during lunch taking a snooze.
Amber was already at the fridge looking for things to eat when I told her she'd have better luck looking for snacks in one of the cabinets. She grabbed a pack of Bahlsen zoo biscuits (which I for some reason had) and immediately started munching on them. I looked to Eva, Cody and Malcolm and asked them if there was anything they'd like to eat.
"SpaghettiOs with more cheese on top and some chocolate, separately of course," Eva replied. She wasn't a big fan of cheese so I shot her a quizzical look and she rubbed her belly and said, "It's the cravings."
I arched a brow and replied, "Well okay...".
"What about you guys?" I turned to face the boys.
"I think we're supposed to have salad to get ready for the season in December. That's what coach said right Malc?"
"Uh yeah I guess so?" Malc replied half-confidently. I chuckled, they were so clueless.
"Hey Amber, did you see any veg in the fridge just now?"
"No," she replied.
"Well, I guess we got to go to the grocery store."
"Yes! A field trip! Oh wait, are we just going to leave Lia here?" Cody gestured to the sleeping beauty on the couch. "Yeah, I don't think she wants to be woken up yet." Just as I said that she let out a soft snore.
We travelled to the store in Malcolm's car. Passing me her phone, Eva said, "Hey Madds, there's apparently a rumour going around that you and Malc are dating." What. I scroll through the "article"(our school's news club uses a website). There was a picture of him laughing at something I said and me wearing a huge smile.
My mouth huge agape. This was back from when he was driving me home and someone in that shady van took a picture of us. "Who wrote that crap?" Malcolm asked from the driver's seat. "Someone using the alias, Four," I replied. What a strange nickname.
"So they followed us just to get that picture?" Malcolm's voice hinted his annoyance. "That's invasion of privacy. I could report them and it won't be very hard finding out the culprits."
"Malc calm down, they're just trying to create some entertaining news for the other people at school."
Malcolm's nostrils were still flared and jaw was jaw was clenched. I realised I had been clenching my fist and breathing heavily the whole time. The news club this year was really taking it a little too far.
We arrive at the store shortly after. Cody went to take the cart the moment we stepped into the store. He came back running and resting his weight on the cart, giggling like a child. I rolled my eyes at his childish antics but I have to admit, that is actually pretty fun to do.
