.Chapter 14.
3 weeks later
Avoiding him is what I'm doing now, doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Been doing it for 2 weeks, I have. What an asshole. I put my trust in him and he utterly just betrays it, telling me he likes me and all that crap. I guess I was wrong. He's a player and always will be.
He tried to toy with my emotions huh, I'll play his twice as worse, with the help of my friends and their "Master plan" of course. Time to give his heart a break.
Let me just do a little rundown of what happened.
Present
Carter came to pick me up the following Monday. His car smelled amazing as ever, mostly because it smelled of him.
Ew.
Man is this what it's like to crush on someone? Gosh. What have I gotten myself into.
"So," he began,"Have you managed to find out what happened to Eva and Wes?"
I shook my head, replying,"I haven't got the slightest clue. I'm just so confused as to why he would suddenly just break up with her like that." I said that, all the while staring at him.
We spend the rest of the ride in silence, except for my occasional humming to the songs playing on the radio. As we near the carpark, he makes a request," While we're at school could you just call me Ace?"
"Sure," I agree.
When we step out of the car, whispers and snickers of the other students surrounding me fill my ears.
"Why was she in his car?"
"Is that his new hoe?"
"What the heck, I never got a ride from him before."
There are a lot other nasty comments but I tune them out, plugging in my earpieces. My eyebrows are slightly furrowed as I quickly make my way to class, not bothering to look back at Carter. I guess we should have thought this out better. He's an actor for god's sake.
I'm at my locker when I hear that all too familiar clicking of high heels coming in my direction. What an amazing way to start the day- note the sarcasm. What does Claudia want now. It definitely has to do with Ace but it's not her business to meddle in.
"Bitch," she spat, her followers already coming to her side, like bodyguards. She continued,"So what was your pathetic ass doing in Ace's car?"
"Sitting in the passenger seat," I huffed, still busy swapping my books from the locker and my bag.
"What else did it look like I was doing?" I muttered.
"You little slut-" well look who's talking"-look at me when I'm talking to you. Didn't your parents- whoops sorry I meant mom teach you manners," she said, wearing a proud smirk on her face with her head held high. The hallway became dead silent as the rest of the students turned to face us.
She did not just fucking go there.
My jaw ticked and my hands curled up into fists.
Impulsivity will get me nowhere. I grit my teeth and my fists were shaking. If I stayed here any longer I was going do some serious shit to her. Breaking her arm once already got me 3 weeks of suspension. Breaking her would no doubt lead to instant expulsion. Everyone was watching, some were recording it. My face was red with anger. In my head I was silently cursing her with every single cuss word I knew.
I slammed my locker shut and it let out a loud 'bang' which scared her and her shitheads, causing them to jump and yelp in shock. If I were acting normally, I would have laughed. I dashed out the main entrance and ran to the back. I could still feel all their stares, but I chose to ignore it. When I ran round the back did their gazes finally tear away from me. Tears were harbouring in my eyes but I kept it in.
