Maddie's POV
After a while, we pull away, resting our foreheads together. "Thank you for all this Carter, you may be a jerk sometimes but really, today was wonderful."
He shrugged. "I try." He took my hand in his and we headed back to the car.
He drove me back to my house and I told him I'd return the clothes to him the following day.
"Thanks again for everything, Cart."
He laughed, "Cart. Really?"
"Hey, don't judge." I say putting my finger up, motioning I wanted silence.
"Alright, alright. I'll see you tomorrow Madds."
"See you!"
Walking up to the door, I rang the bell. I didn't bring my keys. Mom came rushing to open the door and smiled when she saw me. "Maddelyn! You're finally back," she said and gave me a hug. The smell of her floral-scented soap was still lingering.
"Hey to you too Mom."
"Did you enjoy yourself today?"
I nodded.
"Good," she responded. "Have you had dinner yet?"
Before I could answer, my stomach did for me. It growled loudly and I burst out laughing.
"I'll make you some pasta. It will take a while. You should go take a shower because there is... sand all over your back."
"Oh right." I was rolling on the sand earlier.
As I was showering, I felt kind of bad because I barely spent any time with Mom these days. I decided I was going to spend the coming Saturday with her.
Grabbing my phone from the charger where I'd left it, I saw that I had 11 messages from Eva.
