Elves the Beginning (Under construction!)

Chapter 15.

As the later evening came around the corner, a guard came to my room and informed me that I was needed in the dinning hall for the grand feast, all the kings and queens were to be at that dinner, and so I was required to be there.
As I came to the end of the staircase I found Magnus waiting by the railing. "Well who are you waiting for?" I asked cheerfully.

My bride to be." He answered.

Will I get to meet her this eveni-"

Tera!!"

I turned my head towards the staircase, where my eyes grew wide and my face went red, while my jaw was nearly hitting the ground. "P-Poppy?"

Such a grand way to meet again." Poppy laughed.

What the hell are you doing here?!" I snapped as I examined the tall light skinned Elfess standing in front of me. She wore a long red dress, her hair was put up into a wide bun that spread around her whole head, it could be the size of a cat.

Oh, umm, Tera, I would love for you to meet my fiancé Poppy, but I know see that somehow you two have already met." Magnus explained.

Oh, my dearest love, my king." She giggled happily before turning back to me. "This is my sister, my elder sister, Holly is the eldest. Oh Tera! Will Holly be joining us?!" Poppy replied as she descended from the last step, her long red dress trailing behind her. "How has father been?"

W-what?"

Oh wait, father is dead, is he not? Such a sad, sad death." She said happily.

You never cared about him." I hissed in a very low whisper.
Poppy glared at me and linked arms with Magnus, I was for some reason filled with jealousy, I hated her, and I definitely did not want her to marry Magnus.
As every king and queen entered the dinning hall, we all took our seats.

To Magnus and Poppy!" Queen Marsh exclaimed in excitement. Her hair was curled to the maximum curl, while her large gold earrings were the size of her two ears put together. "May your wedding day be bright and fabulous."

Thank you your majesty of earth." Poppy replied happily. "Have you a clue, to where Queen Darya and King Loire is?"

I have not heard of their names in a few days. In fact, a few water elves had to leave my kingdom for an emergency yesterday." Queen Alba Of the Ice elves explained.

Well then, Queen Alba, where is your husband King Aspen?" Poppy asked.

Queen Alba hissed. Her pupil became slits in her eyes while her white hair seemed to flow on the side of her head. "He is in the graveyard with my other twenty dead husbands."

Everyone's eyes grew wide, and Poppy seemed to look very uncomfortable. "Well then. Who have I not chatted with yet?"

I sunk down into my seat suddenly, and just as my head went under the table, I saw Poppy's large grin smeared across her face, it was directed at me.

Tera!" Poppy exclaimed. "How is your wonderful kingdom? Does every elf love you?"

I suddenly sat up straight and looked her dead in the eyes. "The kingdom is great." I answered with the best smile I could give at that moment.

Good good. Has there been any tragedies?" She asked.

Yes, there was a large storm, most of the kingdom was living in my palace, while the rest took off to seek out safety. Every elf is safe, I had letters from every elf that had left the kingdom, they all survived." I explained.

Good. Now, have you found a king yet?"

I heard a loud snicker from behind me, and so I turned around to look at Reaver. He stopped immediately and coughed. I turned around once again and glared at Poppy, which sent chatter around the table. "No, and I do not need a king, I am doing perfectly fine on my own." I hissed.

Of course, I am sure that is true, but, how about heirs to the throne? You must have children soon, for you can not just leave the kingdom suddenly and allow your subjects to choose among themselves."

I am waiting for the right time." I replied as I stood up to leave.

So, how about that forest kingdom?" She asked.

I turned to face her. "What about the Forest kingdom?"

Are you currently ruling it?" Poppy asked.

Yes." I hissed as I stepped away from my seat.

Is it not hard to rule two kingdoms at once?" She asked, and all the royals looked at me.

Yes." I answered. "It is hard. Especially after father died, leaving me to a kingdom that thought I was nothing."

I really should have been given the rights to that kingdom." Poppy declared with a smile.

Father banished you, because you betrayed us, Holly chose to escort you to the human kingdoms, she came back and was too quiet all of a sudden, she did not want the throne, and I was second in line, all rights were given to me, and not because, believe it or not, Holly, she was not the reason, it was because I was the only one who was able to follow the rules, but Holly is a sneaky little lizard! BESIDES!!! YOU WERE TOO YOUNG!!!" I snapped as I left the table.

I have all rights!" Poppy screamed. "But why did I have nothing in the end!? How did you get everything?! Including a second kingdom?!? Why did everyone choose you?!? They all hated you, and now they just suddenly love you!? This kingdom is telling me terrible things, and I am finding fire in the palace gardens around me constantly!!"

That is not my problem." I hissed as I opened the door to leave.

Your majesty's, that is quite enough." Magnus exclaimed.

Oh you shut up." Poppy snapped at him just as I left the room.
I went to my chambers in tears as I sat down on my bed.
I never did understand why Poppy had betrayed the kingdom. Why had she not even tried to stay loyal? If she had stayed loyal, I would only have one kingdom to rule, and I would have a sister who was not a complete idiot.
I buried myself deep beneath the sheets while I sobbed, and I suddenly heard a knocking on my door.

Your elemental majesty? It is Reaver."

Do you even dare come in?" I hissed.

I heard the door open slowly and I popped my head out from the covers slightly.

My goodness, you look like a misbehaved child having a tantrum." He explained as he set down a tray of tea.

How nice of you to say." I snapped as I sat up slightly, wiping away the tears on my cheeks.

Tea?" He asked.

I nodded slightly as I began crying even more.

Your majesty?"

What?!"

Tissue?" He asked softly, I nodded again and he handed me one calmly. "What has you in the blues?"

Nothing, please leave, I think I will go to sleep now." I replied as I drank some of the tea that had been gently placed in my hands.

As you wish." Reaver answered as he left my chamber quietly.

Once I had finished my tea, I hid myself under the sheets once again, where I quietly cried myself to sleep...
