The streets were filled with elves from all over the continent.
The fire kingdom, I found out was, a very popular place in elven kind, the popularity was just under the elemental kingdoms rate.
I smiled at all the little children on the ground that sat alone by the spurting lava fountain. It made me very quite sad that they were all without family or shelter, and lived off of all the waste on the ground that elves would leave.
I gave the children all a few gold coins, and I bought them all food to last them the day. They thanked me with hugs, and it healed me of my terribly sad mood I had been put in. It made me very angry that the fire kingdom had children without homes, and, it seemed to have mostly been very young Elfess', and I could see why. I was quick to remember the book I had read about the fire kingdom, and how the Elfor thought they were the most amazing beings in the world.
I shrugged the thought off my brain and I ended up seeing many of the fire Elfor giving the children bread, they even gave the little Elfess' some food as well. Maybe not all of the Elfor in the fire kingdom were bad to Elfess', seeing how kind these Elfor were. Suddenly I began looking around and I then started to see many Elfess' standing at tables in the market places, selling meat, fruit and bread. The elemental kingdom had never been invited to the Fire kingdom, and had only heard rumours about the life there, maybe the book was somewhat wrong, and had hardly any of these problems; but there was one problem about it. It was the parents who chose to kick their little Elfess children out onto the pathways and roads, to live out the rest of their days. My heart broke straight away when seeing all the children, but some were boys, there were hardly any.
I shrugged again and I started walking towards the old library, I had heard that they were selling some very old books. I walked along the pathways of shops and found my way. The little old shop seemed to look as if it was out of business.
I opened the door slowly, and I was greeted by an old dusty smell. The dust floated around in the air. I suddenly began to cough up all the dust I had breathed in; how exactly was it so dusty? Had it not been cleaned? I was quick to learn that the shop was indeed, out of money, and the shop keeper was packing up to leave. I walked up to him and quietly coughed to catch his attention. "Pardon me sir, but, I would very much like to purchase a few of your best books, of both the historical and some of the newer copies."
The old fire elf nodded slightly and walked down an isle, grabbing a few books as he went. There were three isles and he took at least four from each of them.He approached me with a small smile and handed me all the books. "Would that be all your majesty?"
I looked at the man in slight shock. "How did you know who I was?" I asked. I knew for a fact that I was not dressed appropriately for a queen or, a royal, no one should have been able to guess that I was elemental queen.
I see and hear many things, including a prophecy which is in one of these great books, maybe you can figure out which one it is." The old Elfor answered.
That does not explain how you could know it was me." I replied.
I am seeker of knowledge, I have my ways." He said.
Did you by chance, talk to an Elfor named Reaver?" I asked.
He nodded with a laugh. "He told me you would look bored, he also told me that you were a bookish Elfess." He chuckled. "He mentioned that you were beautiful, but now that I am meeting you I do believe it is an honour, you he was right about you."
I was shocked. Reaver had mentioned to this Elfor that I was beautiful? "Alright then, how much would you like for these special books?"
No gold is wanted, keep the books, I need no money." He replied.
You must want something." I gasped. "I am the queen, I can give you riches."
I want no riches, nor fame, I just want those to hear my story." The old elf said.
That is very wise, but I insist." I said as I laid out some gold.
The old elf looked at me, his eyes bright. "How could I ever repay you?"
You do not have to." I laughed with a smile on my face. "You are giving me these books, that is what you have given me, and that is all I need, so you must take this gold."
The old Elfor smiled brightly and helped me with the books, by putting them in a nicely made basket that his wife had made.
I left the little library with my new books, and since I was in a very happy mood, I took one of the books out from the basket and began to read.
All of a sudden I hit an object and fell backwards, but I was caught by something, or someone. I looked up and saw Magnus. Once he saw my face his eyes grew large and his mouth was agape. "M-Magnus?"He failed to let go of me and just stared. "Y-your majesty?"
I did not expect to see you out and about." I said suddenly.
We kept our gaze and stood there in the same spot. "You are king now?"Yes, I was, the wise choice." He answered with a small chuckle. He realized that he was still holding onto me with a tight grip and he finally let go. "How has your kingdom been doing?"
It has been a slight disaster since the storm." I explained. "But it has been a success."
That is excellent."
I nodded slightly as I held on tightly to my book.
What is that book? I have never read it before." He asked as he gazed at the title on the cover.
Among the heroes." I answered. "Book of prophecies and the great gods and heroes of our time."
I have actually been wanting to read that, but, my fiancé will not let me, she needs my undivided attention at all times." Magnus explained.
You are engaged?" YOU are getting married?!" I exclaimed in excitement and shock.
Yes, and she is pretty amazing." He answered.
Who is it?" I asked with excitement.
Pop-"
Do not tell me! I want it to be a surprise for when I visit your kingdom next." I cut him off.
Alright, well, it was a pleasure seeing you again your Majesty, or shall I call you Queen Tera?"
Whichever you feel, you may even refer to me as Tera, if you wish." I answered.
Well then, I hope to see you around, Tera, but for now, I must head back to my bride to be." He replied as he turned to walk away.
I watched him as he disappeared behind a corner, and then I began to skip away happily towards a fruit stand where exotic fruits were being sold.
I had always loved weddings, and I only hopped that I was to be invited...
