As we climbed up the stairs I was slowly melting with fear.
What was going on up there? Was the plan still in motion? Could we escape? Was it safe to come up? I started regretting asking George to do this for us, but this could be the only chance I got to ever get back to River, maybe if I did not take the chance to go now I would never have the chance again.
I could hear the clashing of swords louder and louder as we came closer to the top of the staircase.Get out of here!" George roared as he clashed his sword with the other guard's sword.
Tears filled my eyes. "Escape with us!"
I will be in your kingdom soon! I promise!" He cried as he tried slashing the other guard but was pushed to the ground.
I watched in horror as the sword went through his heart.Lets go!" Winter cried as he grabbed my hand again and started dragging me away as fast as he could.
I looked behind me only to see that the guard was chasing us. We turned a corner quickly as the guard skidded past so quickly he did not notice us.
I then spotted two black hoods and I pointed towards them. He got the message and passed one to me.
We quickly put them on, covering our faces as we walked out with a barrel that had also been there. You there!" A guard called from far across the hall. "What are you doing!?"
Oh nothing, just delivering this barrel of supplies to the village." I answered.
Hmm, go on then." He replied as he turned and walked away.
I smiled at Winter and then we both started pushing the barrel ahead of us more, catching some speed that was not too fast to show that we were not in a hurry to get somewhere, and then we started running with it.
We told every guard who stopped us that we were extremely late for the delivery and we had to be quick, it worked on every guard who asked, they all believed what we had to say.
We ran faster and faster each guard we passed, then once we got outside we ditched the barrel and bolted for the forest. A guard saw us and started running after us with so much speed, it encouraged us to run so much faster in the bushes. We ran and ran, being whipped in the faces by branches, but that did not stop us.
By the time we lost the guard we were stopping to breath. "We made it."He held my hand tighter in his. "We live to tell the tale."
I smiled but it soon faded when we heard shouts. "We have to go now! Go towards the elemental, I will try to lose them!" I cried to Winter
He nodded as he started running again.
Hey!" I called to the guards. "Come get me!!!"
I heard the stomping of hooves and the shouting of the Elfor's, and of course my annoying sister was there too, whining about how I escaped before anyone could execute me.
I started running as they almost got close enough to see.
I felt fear again, why had I not just went back with Winter?
As I ran I felt the blood trickling down on my cheeks and my heart pounding in my chest.
It was almost as if that is where I would die, actually, I was pretty sure that this would be my ending. I would die of terror or I would die when an animal killed me.
I ran faster and faster, dodging what I could and hoping not to trip on anything.
I kept on running but then I hit an open trail where an old looking being stood with a cart.Is something wrong?" She asked.
I need help." I gasped. "Fire elves are chasing me, I don't know what to do or where to go." I whimpered.
I can maybe be a good use to you." She replied.
Anything please." I pleaded and she smiled as she took out a staff. I noticed immediately that she was not an Elfess, she was a human.
I am someone you must never forget, and I am someone very powerful." The woman said and I watched as she became young and beautiful. "I have power like no other."
What are you?" I asked in horror and she smirked.
I am your last hope." She answered. "Take my offering of a disguise or keep running, but I guaranty that if you keep running, they will catch you."
I could hear the yelling and my heart thumped harder in my chest as I thought about it over and over again. "I will take that offering."
Good choice." She said as she slammed her staff into the ground.
A flash of light knocked me down. "Ow." I said. "What happened?"
I looked around but the woman was gone.DRAGON!!!!!!!!" Someone cried and I looked behind me only to see many guards starring at me in horror.
What is going on?" I asked but no one answered.
It is getting aggressive!" A guard cried. "We should take it back to the king!"
No, I think it will do just fine on its own, besides, we do not need another pest." Poppy hissed as she looked into my eyes.
I looked at my feet in confusion, but I only saw talons. "WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!" I roared and all the elven guards backed up in fear. "THIS IS YOUR FAULT!!!!"
Back up!" Poppy cried.
YOU ARE ALL THE REASONS I HAD TO TAKE THE OFFERING!!!!" I roared. "ONE DAY I WILL PUT YOU IN PRISON! KILL A NICE GUARD WHO WAS ABOUT TO LET YOU ESCAPE AND THEN I WILL TURN TOU ALL INTO WEAK LITTLE SMALL DRAGONS OF WHOM I WILL KEEP AS PETS AND FEED THEM LEAVES!!!!"
It is angry at us, we must leave." Poppy explained to the guards.
I say we kill it." One hissed.
If we anger these giant beasts they will come destroy the kingdom, this type of dragon always has friends around." Poppy explained as she turned around. "Lets keep looking."
Inside I smiled, this was great, but, how would I become normal again??...
