monday

i called noah and said i wanted to meet him before school starts. "y/n!" i heard my name as he walked up to me.

"you said you wanted to meet?" he frowned, gripping the straps of his backpack.

"yeah, um, look, im really sorry about what i said on saturday. i was just looking out for you, because, you know, you're my friend?" 

i looked up at him and he smiled. "its fine, i get it. yeah, we're good" i smiled and headed to class.

...

millie, sadie and i decided to eat together for lunch.

"so, i resolved my problems with noah. melissa is still kinda bugging me." i admitted. sadie nodded. 

"you should be. in fact, 'bugging' should be an understatement." millie nodded in agreement.

...

i had geography. millie was also in my class. we were chatting away until melissa guiles walked in.

"what's she doing here? she's not in this class, is she?" millie whispered to me. i shrugged and watched her until she had chosen her seat.

"im going in" i told millie. she placed a hand on her chest dramatically. "be careful, my dear!" she exclaimed, earning a few glares from the students in the room.

"shut up" i laughed and nervously stood up, heading towards melissa's desk. i felt a few people's eyes on me, as if they were wondering who dared to go up to melissa.

"um, hi?" i said as she stopped checking her nails and looked up at me in annoyance.

"hi? what do you want?" she folded her arms. "i don't remember you being in this class, are you sure you are in the right one?" i asked.

she rolled her eyes. she looked as if she was about to answer my question, but the teacher came in. "uh, ms. guiles, are you sure you have the right class?" "uh, yes, mr. hilton signed my exchange form."

she nodded uncertainly and started the class.

...

after school, in the library

i saw melissa and noah at a table together, again. i went up to noah. "hey noah" i smiled. "what are you doing here?" he asked. "oh, i was told to come borrow some books for my geography teacher." i replied.

melissa had a disgusted look on her face. "wait...you two know each other?" she said in a fake happy voice. "uh, uh, yeah we, uh do." noah replied, stuttering. i gave him a questioning look.

"yeah, he showed me around on my first day here" i nodded. "oh. and you said you were getting books for class? what a pet!" she clasped her hands together, letting out a fAke gasp.

"okay...i'll see you later?" i said to noah. "uh, yeah" he nodded and went back to talking to melissa.

'bye to you too' i thought and proceeded to walk out of the library.
