it's not melissa, it's finn, caleb and gaten. caleb is wearing a black tux with a purple shirt, finn also with a black tux but with a bowtie, and gaten with a grey tux and blue shirt.

they look like idiots- not because of their outfits, because they look like they were supposed to surprise us, with a goofy grin stuck on all three of their faces.

i laugh and walk over. "you guys try to prank us?" millie asks. they stop and their eyes widen. "maybe?" gaten says slowly.

sadie laughs. "you guys are really sneaky" sadie exaggerates the 'really' and caleb puts an arm around her.

i was quick to take my phone out and snap a picture of them. "aw, you guys are so cute!" sadie rolls her eyes and turns to look caleb in the eyes, who was already looking down at her.

"okay, so now everyone is here, let's dance!" millie smiles, as everyone follows her onto the dance floor. 

this time it was "we are young" was playing. i dont know, but the song's lyrics made me feel more carefree, why was i so worried about melissa?

after the song finished, we went to sit and chat for a bit. "wow, i feel so much better" i said, wiping my forehead.

millie nodded in agreement. "yeah, same here" she smiled. 

and just when i actually started feeling stress free again, i spotted noah on the other side of the gym, staring back at me.

i put the video here bc when i tried to read chapter 24 with the video (on my phone), i couldn't play it the same time i was reading the chapter so hopefully this works :)

god what am i doing this is so fucking cliche oh well roast me i deserve it (also pretend the song is clean)

"i can't fall in love without you" had already started playing. i looked around to see everyone pairing up to slow dance, including sadie and caleb.

i looked at noah and back at millie. "go on" she says, "you guys have to talk" i frown. "are you gonna be okay here?" i ask. she nods and smiles.

i gulp and breathe shakily as i make my way over to noah. he notices me and walks over, making us meet in the middle of the gym.

i feel so happy, happy that i'm free

i smile and try to be friendly. "hey" "can we dance?" he says nonchalantly. i was taken aback at the sudden confidence.

i can be out every night

i shrug. "su-sure" i smile. i stiffly put my hands on his shoulders as his go around my waist. i look down as we gently sway to the music.

 i can do just what i like

"why aren't you here with melissa?" i ask quietly. noah frowns. "why would i be with her?" i frown in response. "wha- she told me, she was gonna ask you"

he purses his lips and shakes his head slowly. i let out a sigh. "well, i was the one who poured the punch on her" my eyes widen.

i chuckle. "noah, you know if anyone else finds out, you'll be in big trouble!" he smiles for a short while.

"i heard about what she's been doing to you. i didn't believe it at first, but i realized i was pushing everyone away, and i heard her talking about what she's been doing"

i look down and bite my lip. "im really sorry, y/n. i should've payed more attention. will you forgive me?" noah pleads.

i look up, eyes slightly watering and nod. noah's expression becomes guilty and he pulls me into a hug. "im so sorry" i hear a muffled voice.

i hope you're sorry

i smile and hug him tighter, still swaying to the music. "i also didn't tell you about something else" i say, pulling away from the hug.

hope you're always worried

he frowns. "what is it?" i inhale. "i had a dad, tony. we moved here because of his constant abuse" i explain.

don't you think i give a

"my mom would always be in this trance around him, but one day he did something so bad, we managed to move here" i continued. 

but i hope you can't get it up

"and just around a month ago, he came here, moved in with us" i took a deep breath and looked to the side.

"and my mom caught him...a-abusing me just this monday, a-and that's why i wasn't at school" i mumbled, feeling tears begin to form.

"oh, oh my god y/n, why didn't you tell me?" noah whispered, voice filled with disbelief. i looked down. "i thought, i thought you didn't care anymore"

i looked up, close to tears. his mouth opened to speak, but no words came out. he pulled me in for another hug.

"it's okay, my mom turned him in" i mumbled. he frowned and pulled away. "no, it's not okay. i wasn't there for you"

"that's because i didn't tell you about it" i reassured him. "and you didn't tell me because i pushed you away" he argued.

i pulled away and glanced at sadie and caleb. noah followed my gaze and looked at them too, just in time to see them kiss.

"see, we made that happen" i smiled, looking at noah. he laughed.

then i looked towards millie's direction, and she was now dancing with finn. i smiled but wondered where gaten was.

i turned back to noah and pulled him into one last hug before the end of the song. he hugged back. "i missed you"

so please don't fall in love without me

also the next chapter will also be set during the snowball so yeah
