Part 22 - road trip

Ethan's p.o.v
I felt so bad, even though Sapphire forgave me. I wanted to take her somewhere to make up for it. I decided to buy plane tickets to go to Hawaii, and when I'm surprising her I'm just going to say that I'm taking her on a fancy dinner, and we will instead get on a plane. I pay for the tickets already stressed because of how high the price was but it's worth it for my princess.
I rack over the ideas of how to surprise her and get her on the plane when I start to drift off to sleep.
The next day...
Sapphires p.o.v
I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I see the contact name as Ethan and decide that even thought I'm tired I'll answer it.
E: hey baby, good morning
Me: hey good morning, I'm so tired
E: awe I'm sorry, did I wake you up?
Me: yea but it's okay it's already 12 anyway.
E: would you like to go on a fancy date with me tonight princess?
Aw he called me princess
Me: sure what should I wear
E: something casual, I'll be there at 4pm
Me: why so early
E: I'm hungry, it'll be out linner
Me: okay well I'm going to go get dressed and eat a snack
E: okay I'll see you soon
I put down my phone and go turn my shower on, making sure to turn my speaker on with music.
After my shower I pick out some black plain leggings with a shorter shirt, that wasn't totally cropped but more loose.
I go over to my mirror and proceed to put my makeup on consisting of my eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, foundation, concealer, bronzer, highlighter, and blush.
I go over to straighten my hair giving myself a more clean look compared to my naturally curly hair. I see that it's already 2:30 and I'm stunned o took that long. I go downstairs to get food and then sit in the couch to catch up on some TV shows.
1 and a half hours later...
There's a knock on my door and when I answer it E stands there with a handful of flowers. I take them and put them in a vase and after grab my purse and phone heading out the making sure to lock the door behind me.
When we start driving I don't exactly realize where we are going but decide not to ask him because I trust him.
He placed his hand in my thigh and place my hand over his looking over at him. I see a smile form on his face and realize how lucky I am to have him.

We're here he states. I look up and see the airport ahead.
"We're eating at an airport?" I laugh
"No, I'm taking you to Hawaii for a month"
"Really!?"
"Y-"
My phone rings interrupting Ethan mid sentence. I see the contact name but don't Recognize the number. When I answer a voice I don't recognize speaks.
"Is this Sapphire S?" She speaks
"Yes" I say hesitantly
"We have some bad news. Sadly your mother came in minutes ago from a car accident but passed away before she got here"
My hand flew up to my mouth and my eyes started to tear.
"N-no. I'll be right there"
