As they walked back to the car, each of them both carrying a ton of bags from high end stores, Miharu sighed.
"You bought me too many things,"Miharu muttered. Itachi rolled his eyes. She stared at his back as he walked. She noticed today he hadn't worn a suit. He'd instead gone for a nice outfit, that seemed a little casual.
"Since when does a girl complain about having too many clothes bought for her?"Itachi snorted. Miharu narrowed her eyes at him, ignoring the looks that the women were giving the Uchiha. She'd dealt with them all day, but right now they were actually annoying her. She knew Itachi was hot, but did they have to stare? Like, get a life people. Take a picture or something. Itachi was already hers-WAIT NO HE ISN'T WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING?! Miharu shook her head. Itachi glanced back at her. Itachi popped the trunk open and loaded the bags, moving to take hers and put them in as well.
"Yeah, well since when does a guy who kidnapped me and forced me to stay with him, end up agreeing to an arranged marriage as well as purchase me tons of clothes?"Miharu shot back at him. His eyes narrowed. She sighed and crossed her arms. "I was going to tell you....Nishiki called." Itachi stared at her in shock. "He's my brother, I don't know if you knew but I suppose you do because you've probably dug up every file imaginable on me." Miharu shrugged and dropped her arms. She turned her gaze to the passenger door and started walking towards it. "That's fine, you can know all the facts you want, but you still don't know me." His eyes focused on her back and he sealed his lips into a straight line. She was right. Her personality was a lot stronger than he'd pegged her for. She didn't act how a girl that had all her facts should act, or at least how he'd expect a girl like her to act. He made his way to the car and climbed in beside her, closing the door. She was fiddling with her new phone.
As they drove, the radio was playing softly. Miharu reached over and turned the song up a little. He watched her fidget in her seat. His eyes focused on her leg tapping to the beat of the music.
"Do you like this song?"Itachi asked her. Miharu flinched. She looked out the window and sighed hard.
"Yeah, it's one I like,"Miharu answered. Her gaze focused on the passing cars and people in the city.
"I had no idea what kind of music you liked,"Itachi muttered. Her gaze flickered to him for a split second. "I'm fond of rock and jazz myself." Miharu getsured to the radio. The song had switched.
"Most of what this station plays is to my liking. I like rock, metal, classical. It's fun to listen to music, and I know most of the lyrics too,"Miharu told him. She grinned. "There was a time as a child I had focused on pursuing music." Itachi nodded slowly to himself. He'd already read that in her file. She'd taken voice lessons, and had done choir in school. She knew how to play several instruments too, from what he'd read. She was different. He drummed a finger to the beat of the song on the radio lightly as they pulled into the parking garage. "Where did you learn to drive?"
"Are you mocking my driving?"Itachi snorted. Miharu rolled her eyes.
"No, I just wondered. You were on the train that day,"she replied. They got out and retrieved the bags from the trunk. He let her pass through the doors first, allowing her to head to the elevator as well. When they got up to their floor, Itachi frowned.
"Heyyyy, Miharu!"Shisui greeted her. He slid his arm around her shoulders, causing Itachi to stiffen. "Whadya say you leave the bags, ditch the boss, and come see how soft my bed is?" Itachi opened his mouth to say something, when he noticed Miharu's blank look she was giving Shisui.
"Why would I want to see how soft your bed is?"she asked. Shisui blinked at her. Is she really that dense? He wondered. Itachi must have fun with that. He chuckled and removed his arm, not missing the glare he'd received from Itachi. He shrugged at the two.
"I just wanted you to know it's softer than Itachi's ever will be,"Shisui told her, winking. She blinked at him. "Since you know, you two are sharing a room now."
"What?!"
"Excuse me?!"
"Who told you that?! It's a lie!"Itachi hissed. Shisui chuckled and held his hands up defensively.
"No, no, it's not. I was told to relay that information to you,"Shisui replied. The two stared at him. Miharu sighed instantly.
"Let me guess, Mikoto-san?"Miharu asked. Shisui gave a thumbs up.
"You got it! Your old room is where you'll place your clothes now, and you'll move in with Itachi,"Shisui told her. He held a finger up matter-of-factly. "Those are her words, not mine. If it was up to me, she'd be in my room." Itachi narrowed his eyes and Shisui nervously laughed. "Eh, it was a joke." Miharu sighed at him and glanced at Itachi.
"I guess if mom says..."Itachi sighed, looking defeated. Miharu felt sad for a moment...not understanding why her chest hurt when he looked down like that. She frowned slightly at herself. Itachi and Miharu took the new clothes to her old room and began putting them up. When she started hanging the dresses in the closet, she stood back and frowned harder. "What?"
"Too many dresses,"she told him. He rolled his eyes. When they left the room and headed to his, she squirmed nervously. I've never been in a man's room...she thought. It was kind of awkward feeling to her, especially as he opened the door to reveal a mini apartment area rather than a bedroom. He lead her down a hallway and stopped at a door, opening it. She peered inside, noticing that his room definitely a boys room. He doesn't make his bed? Itachi noticed her eyes lingering on the bed. He bent down and put his lips beside her ear.
"You can sleep on the couch if you'd prefer to avoid sharing the bed,"he told her. She jumped and her face heated up. He grinned at her devilishly. "If we share the bed, I can't promise you how long I'll be able to hold back from touching you." Miharu blushed harder.
"You wouldn't!"She stuttered. He grabbed a strand of her long blonde hair and brought it up to his lips, closing his eyes.
"Oh, but I might,"he told her. He opened his eyes and stared at her softly. "You're not lacking anything in the looks department." She huffed at him when he dropped her lock of hair. She sighed and walked away from him, moving over to the bed. Her hand reached out and touched the comforter gently, running her hand over the disheveled bed covers. She noticed his bed had a thing where curtains could close around it.
"Listen. If we're going to be sharing a room, you'll have to start making the bed in the morning, or at least deal with me making it,"She told him, sighing. Her eyes shot to the corner of the room with a pile of clothes in it and she frowned hard at him. She gestured with her hand. "And that. What are those, dirty?" Itachi awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. Her eyes moved to his closet space. "I suppose tomorrow we can also move your clothes to the same room as mine, that would make things easier. We could get a couple of folding screens so we don't have to look at each other change." Miharu put her hand on her chin. Itachi blinked at her. She's already thinking of ways to improve our lifestyle? He wondered. She's incredible. "So, separate laundry baskets as well." He watched her walk over to his bathroom.
"Wait don't go in-"He was interrupted by a sharp gasp. Miharu could feel her eye twitch. The bathroom was a wreck too. Clothes were strewn everywhere. The counter was littered with trash and objects that didn't seem to have a point. She turned and narrowed her eyes at him. He put his hand on his face and sighed deeply.
"You have a serious problem,"Miharu commented. His cheeks turned red in embarrassment.
"Yeah, I know..."He trailed off. She sighed and walked up to him grinning. She placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry, I'll help get you out of that habit,"she told him. He looked at her and felt his heart overflowing with emotion. "I mean, if we're going to be married, you can't have your place looking like a slob lives there right?" She dropped her hand and let out a sigh. "I'm going to go put pyjamas on. Make sure that if you're going to sleep shirtless, you at least wear sleeping pants please..." She turned and left him standing there alone. He clenched his fist after he dropped his hand from his face. I think I'm in love with her.
