The crowd of paparazzi seemed to be endless. It took at least 3 minutes to push and pull through them, and being blinded by the flash of a dozen cameras did not help. Jaycee had never experienced paparazzi, atleast not like this. By the time we made it safetly into Sams house her eyes were filled with tears.

“Hey, its okay sweetie.” I bent down and wrapped my arms around her.

“Why were they doing that mommy?” She sniffled.

“Because they have no lives and need to probe into everyone elses,” Bailey shot out. I gave her a stern look, shaking my head in disapproval. She was not helping.

“You know how when daddy goes out and they follow him?”

She pulled her head from the crook of my neck and nodded, running the back of her hand across her swollen eye.

“They just wanted to see what was going on with us, like they do with daddy is all.”

“And,” Sam began, “Now you’re in the house and they cant bother you, while they are all out there, freezing their butts off, just to get a picture of you and see how beautiful you are.”

Jaycee giggled, her eyes lighting up at Sam.

“And guess what?” Sam bent down to her level, wiping away the last few tears that stained her face.

“What?”

“There are freshly baked cookies in on the stove and I still need to frost them, you think maybe you could help me?” Sam smiled widely.

“Uh huh!!” Jaycee spoke exceitdely, her adrenaline already pumping at the words cookies.

Sam laughed, “Okay, why don’t you and Bailey go in the kitchen and me and your mom will be in in just a second okay?” She nodded and reached for Baileys hand and they started off towards the kitchen.

“And take Benie with you!” I yelled before they got too far into the kitchen.

“C’mon Benie!” Bailey called, causing the dogs ears to shoot up and took off in a sprint to the kitchen.

Sam sighed, “So does he know you’re here?”

I shrugged, running my fingers through my messy hair. “I don’t know. I wouldn’t doubt it with all those pap-fucks standing outside, our pictures are probably already all over the internet by now.”

“Well, you guys are welcome to stay as long as you would like.”

I half smiled, “Thank you for doing this, you really don’t have to and I shouldn’t of asked.”

He shooke his head, “Its really no trouble at all.” I grabbed my hand, “I just want you and Jaycee both to be safe, and I know you’re safe here, with me.” He smiled.

“Thanks Sam,” I smiled and wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug.

He really did not have to do this for us. He could put us out on the street right now,  because we were not his concern; I was just glad he didn’t. We may have not went too far away from Justin, but it is all we had for right now. Everyone else we knew was either gone, or not home. And until we could find somewhere else, we were stuck here; but I liked it here. Jaycee liked it her, Bailey as well, so for now we were going to stay put.

“What’s that supposed to be?” Bailey questioned, her brows furrowed as she stared down at the cookie Jaycee was currently frosting.

“Its Olaf!”

“Olaf?” Sam questioned.

“Yes Olaf!” Jaycee shook her head rolling her eyes, “From frozen, he likes warm hugs.”
