Girl of the Glade

Alby's Tour...

Y/N's POV:
I talk to Minho, or should I say my brother, about anything else he can remember. He doesn't really remember anything else, except that one day I just appeared at his home when I was about three years old and became his baby sister, and that he swore to protect me, forever.
I suddenly feel the ground begin to shake. I stand up quickly and move away from the table.
A loud boom explodes through the air, making me jump. I spin my head towards the walls of the Maze, my eyes fix on the Eastern door. Following it came a horrible crunching, grinding sound. I stumble backwards and fall to the ground. It felt as if the whole earth shook; I look around, panicked.
The wall as were opening.
The walls were really opening. Newt runs to my side. I sit there, staring at the now open doors in shock. He hauls me to my feet, brushing my H/C hair away from my sweaty face as I gain my balance again. Minho turns towards Newt.
"I guess that's our cue" He says, sounding ready for a new adventure.
"A cue?" I ask anxiously,
"A cue for what?" Newt turns to look at me,
"Everyday, love, two runners are sent out into the Maze, mapping and memorising it, trying to find a way out, we then come back to the Maze room and draw out what we saw, before we forget it all," He begins to explain,
"Today, it's mine and Minho's turn to run the Maze, but I'll be back before those doors close, alright love?" I nod in agreement.
"Ok, but promise me you'll be back in time for Fry's dinner?" I demand to him, holding out my pinky finger to him.
He wraps his around mine, as he leans in and whispers in my ear,
"I promise, love, don't worry about me."
As he runs off towards the doors of the Maze, he turns and shouts back to me,
"Alby's giving you a tour today! See ya later, beautiful!" Blowing a kiss in my direction, I feel my face blush bright red. I smile and wave to him a goodbye.
Half an hour after Newt and Minho have disappeared into the doors of the Maze, Alby knocks on the door of my beautiful hut that Newt built especially for me.
"Ready for that tour, Greenie?" He smirks at me. I smile and nod in return.
"A little scared, but always ready for anything Alby!"
"Well, that's always a good sign" He sighs in relief.
"What do mean by that, Alby?" I ask him curiously.
"Well Greenie, If you ain't scared. You ain't human." He continues.
Alby and I reach a large tree in the centre of the Glade. In its leaves is what looks like a kind of small, abandoned, kids tree house. Barely stable to hold one person, never mind two. Alby begins to make his way up the later, before turning his head back down to look at me.
"Hope your not scared of heights Greenie," He laughs,
"Come on, I wanna show you something, before continuing to climb up the ladder, I follow just a few steps behind him.
As Alby is showing me around the Glade, I come to recognise all the different areas.
The Homestead and the Slammer, which Alby said is their prison, are in the Northwest corner.
The gardens are in the Northeast corner.
The animal pens are in the Southeast corner The tree grove is in the Southwest corner.
The Box that everyone has arrived in so far is in the middle of the Glade.
The Map Room, where the Runners go to after they have returned from the Maze, is in between the tree grove and the animal pens, just in front of the Southern Door.
Finally, my hut, which inside the tree grove, close to the walls of the Maze.
I learn about the different jobs that I will be trying out for over the next week or so before being picked by one of the Keepers. The Keepers are the leaders of the people with different jobs, like Fry, who is the Keeper of the Cooks and Minho, Keeper of the Runners.
There are eleven different jobs to try out for around the Gkade, Alby says to me; Runners, Sloppers, Builders, Bricknicks, Slicers, Baggers, Med-jacks, Track-hoes, Map-makers and Cooks.
I want to be a Med-jack.
I don't really remember much about medication or health care, but it feels as if the job is calling to me, reeling me into its grasp.

As Alby continues to talk to me about what's going to happen over the next few days, and about the three main rules inside the Glade. We here shouting coming from the Eastern Wall.
Alby grabs me by the hand, pulling me into a run before sprinting across the Glade, me following just behind him.
As we reach the wall, a familiar shaped figure is standing at the top, looking down at everyone inside the Glade.
It's Newt.
