Chapter 6 ♔

Your POV:

I gulped. This is it. I'm finally going to meet my future husband, and for real this time.

Jihoon noticed me shaking and held my hand gently, "You ready Y/N?" he looked at me with a soft smile.

I took a deep breath, "Yes....I'm ready."

Jihoon and I cautiously walked down the stairs hand-in-hand. I'm glad he was by my side to give me the support I need. 

As we approached the living room, everyone including the Kang family turned their heads to look at us. I noticed them staring at our intertwined hands in suspicion. 

Jihoon let go of my hand immediately and sat on the couch beside Seonho.

My father cleared his throat, "Mr. and Mrs. Kang, this is my daughter, Y/N. She was looking forward to meeting you. Y/N, please introduce yourself."

I nodded and looked at my future in-laws with a shy smile, "Y-Yes, it's really nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Kang" I introduced myself and bowed.

They smiled. "You seem like a well-mannered young lady Y/N. The pleasure is all ours."

So these are my in-laws...

They seem like decent people so far. I shouldn't have much trouble getting along with them. 

I looked around and noticed that their son, Daniel was nowhere to be found. That's weird, I thought he was going to be here?

"By the way, where is Daniel? Didn't he want to meet Y/N as well?" My father asked.

"Don't worry, he's on his way. He took the flight after ours since he had some work to take care of in America. But he should be here soon," Mrs. Kang answered and we nodded.

"While we're waiting, why don't we give her a test? To see if she's worthy," Mr. Kang suggested.

"Test?" I asked confused.

"Yes honey. We want to test you to see if you're truly worthy of marrying our son. So we brought these photos of Daniel and his friends from America. You have to guess which one of them is Daniel," Mrs. Kang said as she pulled out photocards of 10 different guys from her purse and placed them on the coffee table. 

"Oh that should be no problem for our Y/N. She'll guess the right one, I'm positive," My mom boasted and my dad agreed. 

Ugh....why do they have to be so overconfident in me? 

I highly doubt I can get this right. I mean it's 10 guys after all. 

Plus, I had absolutely no idea how Daniel looked like, so this is going to be tricky but I'll try my best. 

I took a closer look at each photocard and noticed that they were all very handsome...

After observing all the photocards, I made my decision immediately. I pointed at the one picture that caught my eye, "Him. That's Kang Daniel, I'm sure of it," I said and handed the photocard to Mrs. Kang. She raised her eyebrow at me and took the card. 

To be honest, I wasn't sure at all. I just went with my gut feeling and hoped I was correct.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, Mrs. Kang spoke up, "My, how impressive! You are indeed worthy of being our daughter-in-law. Welcome to the family Y/N!" she exclaimed and hugged me. Mr. Kang smiled in satisfaction and patted my shoulder. 

Wait, did I actually get that right?! Thank god.

I looked at Jihoon and he gave me a proud smile and thumbs up. I smiled back and sighed in relief. So far, everything is going well. I've managed to pass their "test".

"See, I knew my daughter could do it! Looks like Y/N and Daniel are truly meant for eachother. It must be fate," My mom smiled and pat my back.

"I agree. Now, where is Daniel anyways? I would really like to meet him," My father asked.

"Right. He should be here any moment now," Mr. Kang answered. 

Just as he said that, the front door opened, causing all of us turn our heads in that direction. The moment he stepped in, our eyes met. 

I instantly dropped the coffee I was holding and it smashed into pieces all over the floor. Some of it even stained my shirt, causing the skin underneath to burn. 

But none of that mattered. 

All my attention was focused on the man in front of me. 

He had a charming presence that gave off a masculine vibe, but his gaze was sharp and cat-like. 

....And for the first time in my life, I felt my heart skip many beats at once.
