Chapter 9 ♔

Your POV:

It's been a week since my first date with Daniel. We had gone on many more dates throughout the week and gotten a lot more closer to each other. 

Time flew by like the wind and today is the day I'm going to leave Korea for good to live with the Kang family in America. The marriage date had already been set as we were now engaged. 

Yes, he proposed to me. 💓 

It happened on our second date, when he took me on a luxurious cruise to Jeju island. 

I was just chilling and enjoying the ocean breeze when he suddenly kneeled down and surprised me with a beautiful ring :

Everyone on the cruise that had gathered around us cheered & threw flowers to celebrate the moment. It honestly brought me to tears. Daniel was such a gentlemen and treated me like a princess during all our dates. Without thinking twice, I gladly accepted his proposal. 

I still remember the genuine smile on his face when I accepted him, he was so happy. 

Once our families found out we were officially engaged, they set the marriage date immediately. Our wedding would take place in America 4 months after I move there. They kept it quite late since they wanted me to get settled first. 

My thoughts were interrupted as I heard a knock on my door. "Come in!" I called.

Seonho came in with a sour look on his face, "Noona, have you finished packing? Everyone is waiting downstairs."

"Yup, I just finished packing all my stuff. I'll be down in a moment."

He nodded and started walking away.

"Wait! Seonho!" I pulled his arm. He looked back at me with tears in his eyes, "What noona?!"

I wiped his tears and pulled him into a hug, "Yah dongsaeng, please stop crying. You're making it hard for me to leave."

He hugged me back, "Well it's hard for me too okay?! I can't believe you're just gonna leave me....remember that promise you made with me and Jihoon? What happened to that? I thought you were gonna stay with us forever.." He squeezed me tighter.

I sighed in defeat, "I know Seonho. I know I promised but....I-I just...." I honestly didn't know what to say.

He let go of me and smiled bitterly, "No, it's okay. I understand you have to go and live with your new family. I'm sorry noona...I guess I'm just being immature. I'm gonna miss you, that's all." 

I smiled and pinched his cheeks, "You don't have to be sorry Seonho. I'm gonna miss you too. But I promise to keep in contact and call you often, okay?"

He smiled in satisfaction, "Okay noona."

✈️ ✈️

We were at Incheon airport waiting for our flight. Daniel's family was patiently waiting for me as I said some last goodbyes to my family.

"Be good, okay honey? Try to leave a good impression on your in-laws and listen to what they say alright?" My mother said as she hugged me.

My father spoke next, "As your mother said, be on your best behaviour. You're representing our company after all. Our success all depends on you. Ah and most importantly, enjoy yourself in America," He smiled and patted my shoulder. I nodded. I swear that was the first time I saw him smile. 

"NOONAAAA!!! I'M GONNA MISS YOU!!" I felt someone cling onto my arm. I look down to see Seonho cuddling against my arm whilst fake crying. I laughed and pat his head, "Me too dongsaeng, me too."

I'm glad I got to see my family one last time before leaving. But I was quite disappointed that Jihoon wasn't here. The last time I saw him was during our visit to Namsan tower. 

I gave him a call earlier to let him know I was leaving but he never picked up. Seonho said he was busy so he couldn't make it to the airport. 

Oh well, I guess I'll call him later.

Suddenly, there was an announcement that our flight had arrived. I gently shrugged Seonho off me and started walking towards Daniel and his parents. 

"Ready to go princess?" Daniel asked and I nodded. He took my hand in his as we made our way towards the flight.

I looked behind one last time to wave at my family, but saw something very unexpected. There was an oddly familiar figure running towards us. I squinted my eyes to see that it was Jihoon. 

What is he doing there? I thought he was busy..

Jihoon was running towards us with a large grin on his face, "Noona!! Hyung! Wait for me!"

We stopped and let him catch up to us. "Hey man, what're you doing here? Did you come to say goodbye or something?" Daniel asked him.

I smiled. I'm glad I could see Jihoon one last time before leaving. However, my smile turned into a confused look as I saw the bags of luggage behind him. 

"Jihoon, what are the bags for? Do you also have a flight to catch?" I asked him.

He smiled, "That's right noona. I do have a flight to catch. And it's your  flight. I'm coming to America with you guys!" 

"Oh ok - wait......WHAT?!" Daniel and I exclaimed at the same time with our eyes widened.
