Chapter 10- Getting Away
"Cade..." Aaron whispered in my ear. He kissed my temple before saying, "It's time to start packing. We will leave at midnight."
"Mmm what time is it?" I was in his arms.
"Almost nine."
"Crap."
He chuckled at that and released me out of his hold before walking to the bathroom.
He walked out looking as good as always. I on the other hand was still in bed. I was certain that I probably had black residue from the mascara I applied. I didn't care how bad I looked though.
Its not like Aaron was going to judge me in the slightest for it.
"Get your skinny ass up!" He play-ordered before jumping over me onto the other side of the bed, missing me by inches.
"I'm going to miss this place...for some odd reason."
He let out a sigh before relying, "Me too...but it will be better, for both of us."
"Luke..." It came out, barley a whisper. Though Im certain Aaron heard it, thanks to his werewolf senses. I saw a sincere look cross his face. I let a single tear fall only to be brushed away.
"You should say goodbye before you leave, Cade."
"I don't know if I could leave after that..."
Just then I heard a knock on my door.
I jumped at the sound before recovering and heading towards the door.
The one and only Luke Theodore Carter stood behind the door.
He took one glance at me then focussed on Aaron lounging on my bed.
His eyes turned black. I could see the pure and utter rage behind his expression. It was clear that his wolf was trying to take over. But to my relief he pushed his wolf back from the surface so, He wouldn't lash out and kill everyone in the house.
Alphas have been known to do just that. When It comes to their mate...you do not want to get in the way. Especially before she has been marked.
The look on his face could kill me.
If the look didn't kill me I'm sure his next words would.
"Why is he here...In your bed?" I could tell he was still struggling a bit but was still trying to keep his wolf down.
"Luke," I put my hand on his chest, which he visibly relaxed at and looked me in the eye. "Why do you care..?" I said this in a small voice barely audible.
"I've always cared...But My father doesn't approve Cade, I'm sorry."
"Sorry for what?" I got my answer though...
"I, Luke Theodore Carter, formally reject you, Cadrian Free Stone, as my mate."
I swear I heard my heart break into two.
I was about to slam the door in his face but he beat me to it...
I turned around slowly.
I intended to walk to the bathroom and conceal my tears but I never even made it to the door before the body racking sobs came and tears rolled down my cheeks as I collapsed against the door.
