Chapter 15 - Life of a Rouge
Cade's POV
I've spent a week foraging though trash cans and sleeping on the cold wet ground. I was honestly ready to go back to Hagean. Although it was a bad living situation, I still enjoyed all the one on one time I got with Arron. We had never gotten the chance to spend as much time together as we do now. I had enjoyed spending my nights nestled in his chest and the days walking hand in hand with him. I've gotten to know him on a level that I never knew was possible. It was a level that only you and your mate should be on.
I guess I could say we were basically mates. But I would be lying. I knew Arron was bound to find his mate someday. I dreaded even thinking about the day he would be ripped out of my arms. Yet, I still had to face the fact that he might not be mine forever. I pushed these thoughts out of my mind and nestled closer to Arron.
Right now we were spending most of our time in a city. I didn't actually know the name of the town. We had passed through about two unknown forests and a dozen cities I had never encountered before.
We had no money whatsoever so we were living on the streets. Resting in the day when crime was lower and walking to nowhere in particular at night. It was almost 5 p.m. so I decided to wake Arron.
"Arron, come one wakeup." I whispered into his chest. I couldn't exactly move with him holding me in a death grip.
I knew this would hurt Luke. Whether he knew exactly what was going on, or not, he would still feel it with the bond. I had put up a wall when we left the pack so that he couldn't contact me but I didn't let it all the way up because I still wanted him to know I was alright. I also wanted him to feel every touch that me and Arron had. Through our bond that I hadn't completley blocked, he would feel a male presence and that he was touching me, nothing more. I thought it would be a good way to torcher him.
"Arron!" I said a little more loudly and forcefully. At that his eyes popped open. He looked alert and was scanning the alley we were currently in. "Hey, it's almost five." I didn't actually know that. I had no way of telling time but myinternal clock along with the help of the sun said it was about five.
He yawned letting go of me, and rubbed his eyes. "God, I miss my bed!"
I smiled at him and pulled him onto his feet. As he was gaining balance I heard a loud growl. I turned around expecting another wolf but I saw no one else. I continued to search the premissis but still no one. Oh crap we must be on someone's land, my wolf told me. I heard another growl and I turned to look at who it came from. Arron. I heard it once more. It was coming from his stomach. Me and my wolf simultaneously let out a breath we had both been holding. I let out a giggle. Arron looked at me like I was crazy! I just grabbed his arm and said "Come, lets get you some food."
When I say food, I actually meant whatever we could stuff in our book bags and walk out the door with. It was usually small things like candy bars and other small packages.
Tonight our victims would be the owners of a small convenience store. The owners were not from here. From the writing I saw on the outside of the building, I could only assume they were chinese or japanese. I am watching from across the street as Arron casually walked through the store. Arron would never let me help steal anything, saying he would never forgive himself If I got caught. It was prabably for the best though, because I don't think I could take on all four of the men who were currently in the store. Although, Arron could take all of them down with a flick of the wrist. This was going to be a pretty long session of stealing because, The store was moderately sized and he was planning on picking up quite a few items, not to mention the line was SUPER long to the cash register.
One of our stradegies was to stuff everything into the bag and pick up the cheepest items you could find and pay for it. It makes us look less suspicious, I mean who would suspect a paying customer? It had worked so far.
I was still watching when I felt a clammy hand go over my mouth. I was pulled back farther into the alley and away from any prying eyes. I was turned around to find a middle aged man. He wasn't actually that bad looking. I screamed and tryed to get out of his grip. I decided I could fight dirt just this once so, I bit the crap out of his hand. I got away, thankfully. But I only ran into two more guys. I could tell by their scents that they were human. I wasn't going to get away. Both of the men grabbed an arm and held me to the brick wall. One of them still had their hand on my mouth. I tried to bite again but I was punched in the face before I could sink my teeth into their flesh. I thought about shifting and killing these SOB's, but I hadn't been able to get my damn wolf to come out since I kissed Hagean. So, that was out of the question.
The impact of the punch made my head whipped to the side only to be met with an even harder wall. I looked back at my attacker and saw the first guy. "Hold her." That's all he said before he ripped off my clothes and took the only thing I had left, my innocence. It only took about three minutes before they threw me to the ground and ran away.
I could hear a pounding in my head. I could aslo hear a faint voice.
CADE? CADE? TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE. ARE YOU ALRIGHT.
I accidently let my wall down...
Please, Baby. I know you can hear me. I know what happened. Tell me where you are. I'm coming to get you right now.
I wanted to tell him. I honestly wanted him to come save me. But I knew he would save me, be my hero, and the same thing would happen like when Kathrine locked me in the cells. He would soon forget that I had feelings. He would forget that I exsisted. So, through my tears I told him, It's your fault.
I know, I know it is. I want to make it better, Cadrain. I love you. Now tell me where you are.
I let out a whimper. I felt my core burning and my whole body ache.
Baby, I know you're in pain. Please. Where are you
I'm in hell, Luke. With that said I put my wall back up. All the way up. I could feel him trying to get through the wall. He couldn't though, and he knew that. Tears stinged my cheeks as I rolled into a ball, naked and afraid, as I waited for Arron to find me.
