Miles ran over just as the boy he loved started to fall. He caught Jax in his arms and laid him onto the ground. "Mom," Miles screamed, "I need help!"

Miles heard the pounding footsteps of his mother running upstairs. She ran into the room and placed her hand in front of her mouth. "What happened?"

Miles sat the for a second, letting the tears fall. "We were about to leave and he stood up and he passed out and I don't if he stood up too fast or if it's from the fact his blood counts were low and I'm really scared mom, I'm really freaking scared."

His mom placed her hand on Miles' shoulder. "Everything is going fine. Alright. He's in good hands at the hospital, you know that. I'll go call an ambulance." And with that, she ran to go grab her phone.

Miles sat on his bed, tears still streaming down his face. "I need you to be okay, please," Miles whispered. Jax started to open up his eyes. Miles looked down and saw a pair chocolate brown eyes looking back at him. "Mom! He's awake," Miles screamed and he jumped down next to Jax.

Jax tried sitting up, but Miles stopped him. "Just rest babe. My mom called an ambulance." Jax nodded his head and rolled over on his side. "You scared me there. I thought you were gonna die."

Jax chuckled. "You can't get rid of me that easily." Miles bent down and kissed Jax's forehead.

Miles heard the front door open and he looked downstairs to see the paramedics. He ran back to his room. "They're here." Jax looked at Miles confused. "The paramedics, I mean." Jax nodded in understanding.

The two paramedics walked to Miles' room. Miles got up and moved to the other side of the room. "You can ride in the back of the ambulance," one of the paramedics explained. Miles nodded his head. The paramedics lifted Jax up on to the stretcher.

The paramedics took the stretcher downstairs. They took Jax outside and put the stretcher inside the ambulance. Miles pulled himself into the ambulance. One paramedic hopped in the back and closed the doors.

Miles sat on the bench next to the stretcher. "Everything is falling apart, Miles. And I-I'm fucking scared." Miles placed his hand on Jax's shoulder. "I don't know when I'll see my mom or sister again. My dad might come for me. I hate the not knowing part of this."

Miles just sat there. He didn't know what to say to Jax. The driver started up the ambulance. The paramedic grabbed some supplies. "I'm going to hook up an IV and take your vitals," the paramedic explained. Jax nodded his head in understanding.

The paramedic put in an IV, took Jax's blood pressure, and took his temperature. "You do have a fever of 102.8. And your blood pressure is low. Is there any chance you have an infection?"

Jax stared off into space for a moment. "Yeah, I guess. My white blood cells are low." The paramedic's facial expression went from concerned to scared.

He wrote down something down on a clipboard the grabbed his walkie. "We have a 16 year old male who fainted. He has a fever and a low blood pressure. ETA four minutes." The paramedic looked over at Jax. "We'll be there soon. Hang on for me."

Time Skip - At The Hospital

With both paramedics and Miles by his side, Jax was wheeled into Griffin Memorial Hospital. Jax's doctor stood at the nurse's desk filling out papers. He looked up from his work and saw Jax in the stretcher. He dropped his pen and ran over to the paramedics. "Get him into bay 3. Nurse, get him admitted now." The paramedics did as they were told and wheeled the stretcher into the bay.

Dr.Morris walked in right after the paramedics. "His BP is 60/92, he has a fever of 102.8, and his heart rate is 123 beats per minute." A nurse ran into the room with a clipboard.

Dr.Morris stood by the paramedic. "Nurse drawn some blood and I need need a CBC, and a chem 14. Also," Dr.Morris whispered to the nurse, "also do a tox screen just in case." The nurse walked over and drew the blood. Dr.Morris pulled up Jax's chart on the computer. "Let's hang an IV drip of lincomycin in case there is an infection." The nurse hung the bag of antibiotics. Then took the blood to the lab.

Miles had heard what the doctor had whispered to the nurse. "Why would you order a tox screen. He doesn't do any drugs." Dr.Morris stopped typing on Jax's chart.

"We have to order a tox screen on every patient," Dr.Morris explained. Miles nodded his head and sighed with relief. "I whisper it so the family doesn't freak out at me."

Miles rubbed the back of his neck. He looked up apologetically and said, "Sorry." Dr.Morris nodded his head and walked back over to Jax.

The nurse ran out of the room with the blood in hand. "Put a rush on those blood tests, Kathleen." The nurse yelled back. "We're going to figure this out, Mr.Gardner. Where is your mother?"

Jax shifted in his seat uncomfortably. "My mom left and my dad is an abusive asshole so I'm staying with Miles."

Dr.Morris nodded his head and typed something on the computer. "Is your mother coming, Miles," Dr.Morris asked.

Miles shrugged. "I'm not sure. Probably." Jax laid back and rubbed the bridge of his nose. A chair was knocked against the wall in the waiting room causing Jax to wince.

Miles looked at Jax with a concerned face. "Just a headache, Miles. I'm seriously okay." Miles shot Jax a sarcastic look.

"Jax, do you have any other medical problems," Dr.Morris asked. Jax looked thoughtfully at the ceiling.

Jax looked back at Dr.Morris. "Do the mental ones count," Jax asked. Dr.Morris nodded. "Then yeah, I'm bipolar and I have bad anxiety." Dr.Morris typed his newfound knowledge onto the computer.

"Do you take any medications?"

"Yeah. I take the Zofran for nausea, Cymbalta for anxiety, and Lithium for bipolar disorder." Dr.Morris nodded his head once again and typed the information onto the computer. Jax started to get the feeling he had before he fainted. "I feel like I'm going to pass out again."

Dr.Morris walked over and laid the bed back. The nurse ran on the room with the blood test results. Dr.Morris went over and grabbed the paper. He read over it and raised an eyebrow. "Your white blood cell count is 13,450. And your glucose was low. You probably just have the flu but chemo can make that very dangerous. I am going to talk with my colleagues as to whether or not we should keep you here until your reaction to chemo is calculated. We will definitely keep you here overnight for observation. We will get you moved to a permanent room soon." Jax nodded his head.

Dr.Morris walked out of the room. "Hey Miles, can you text Kit? She should know where I am." Jax asked.

Miles nodded his head and said, "Yeah. Sure." Miles pulled out his phone and texted Kit.

Miles: Just so you know, Jax is in the hospital. They want to keep him here for observation, maybe even a little longer. Jax doesn't want anyone else to know so don't tell anyone.

Miles sent the text then put his phone back in his pocket. "Dude I know you don't want to, and I'm not trying to force you to, but you should tell our friends. Bianca and Alya care about you. Eventually, people at school will find out. Better they hear it from you than someone random."

Jax stared at the ceiling as a tear fell down his face. "I will Miles, I just, I'm scared that they'll pity me, like I did with you. And, I don't want to draw a lot of attention to myself than needed. I'll tell them, just not yet." Miles nodded and walked over to the bed. He locked his lips on to Jax's. Jax pulled back at first, but eased into the kiss. Miles unhinged his lips from Jax's. "Today might not be as bad as I thought."
