Jax pushed himself farther back into his seat. "Wh-what?" Jax managed to choke out. Principal Durani handed a tissue to Jax's mom. She took it, dabbed her eyes, then through it away.

"Your doctor thought it best that I tell you not him," Jax's mom said, breaking the silence. Jax had a million thoughts running through his head. Oh my god I'm going to die, Jax thought to himself.

Jax sat frozen in his seat. Durani scooted up in his chair. "Can I go back to class?" Jax asked timidly. He needed to see Miles. He wouldn't cry in front of his mom, but Miles is his rock.

His mom looked at him surprised then she nodded her head. "Sure honey," she answered. Jax grabbed his stuff and a note from Durani and went on to class.

Jax walked into Park's classroom and handed him the note. Jax walked over and took his seat next to Miles. Miles looked over at Jax. Jax turned his head to look at Miles. "What are we doing?" Jax asked with his breath shaky. Miles pointed to the board where the directions were written. "Oh yeah obviously," Jax chuckled.

Miles looked down and saw Jax's leg shaking. "Dude you okay?" Miles questioned. Jax shook his head no. Miles watched as a tear fell from his eye.

Miles motioned for Mr.Park to come over. Park took one look at Jax and said,"Mr.Lennox take him outside." Miles grabbed Jax by the arm and lead him to the stairs outside if the room.

Jax sat down on the steps and Miles followed his lead. Jax let out a shaky breath as Miles wrapped his arm around his shoulders. Jax continued to tap his leg violently.

"What happened bro?" Miles asked cautiously. He had no idea how Jax would react. Jax let out a heavy sigh and stopped shaking his leg.

Jax took a breath and started to speak. "My mom was in the office. You know how I have been off lately?" He asked. Miles nodded his head with an "mhm." Jax continued," Well I went to the doctor to have some tests done and looks like I have brain cancer." Jax finished with a slight chuckle.

Miles sat in shock. Jax wiped the tears from his eyes. Miles managed to get his mouth to move. "Oh my god. That's why you were acting so weird today," Miles pointed out. Jax layed his head on Miles' shoulder. "Let's sit here for a while. Ok?" Miles asked.

Jax nodded his head. "Sure."
