Hela watched with blurry vision as Loki ran over to her. In the second after the Chitauri pulled its weapon out of her, it fell to the floor, dead. Hela put her hands over her stomach and pulled them up to her face. It didn't surprise her when she felt the warm, red, sticky liquid all over her hands. Hela hunched forward and soon, the pain began to settle in. Hela cried out for Loki as he ran over to her side.

"Hela, listen to me. You're going to be fine." Loki told her.

Hela continued to cry as she felt her legs give out. She started to fall but, Loki caught her. He knelt down on the ground as he held Hela in his arms. One hand cradled her head as the other wrapped around her whole body, as if she were still a baby. Loki slowly rocked her and Hela put her hands over her wound as she cried and screamed. Loki hushed her and pushed some of her hair back. He couldn't help but cry as well. He caressed her cheek with his thumb and kissed her head softly.

"It hurts, dad! It hurts!" Hela cried.

"I know, dear. I know it does." Loki said.

"Why did he do it? Was it because he knew I could kill people?" Hela asked.

"No, Hela. He didn't anything. Just relax." Loki replied as his voice broke.

"Am I going to meet mom now?" Hela asked with a faint smile.

"Not this day, Hela. Some other time but not today. I'll meet her first before you do." Loki told her.

Hela winced in pain as she clenched her body.

"Am I going to die?" Hela gasped.

"No. I'm not going to allow it." Loki told her.

At the end of the road, Thor and all the others were trying to find Loki. They saw him with Hela in his arms and Thor stopped them. They wanted to interfere but he wouldn't let them. They all watched the scene unfold. Loki took off his cape and wrapped it around Hela for comfort. Loki hushed her as he kissed her forehead. He saw the sweat on her brow and her face was pale. She looked up at Loki and he saw that her green eyes weren't as green as they were before. Loki shook his head and rocked Hela slowly.
