Sometimes Knowing Hurts

It's Time

(Anna POV)

The next it was back to school. Yay! Note the sarcasm.

"I did see something in the woods," Angela says.

"Sure, baby, I believe you," Eric says.

"No, he doesn't. He's just trying to get lucky," Jessica says.

"It was jet black and huge. On all fours, it was still taller than a person. A bear, maybe?" Angela explains. Sam is going to have to be more careful.

"Or an alien. You're lucky that you didn't get probed," Eric says.

"Oh, yeah. Well, I saw it," Angela defends.

"You're not the only one. Our Dad's been getting reports at the station. Like five hikers have been killed by some bear. But they can't find the bear," Bella says.

"Last time you clowns doubt my girlfriend," Eric says.

"So, I mean... Bella is back," Mike states. I roll my eyes because he's trying to get her to date him.

"Yeah, I guess so," Bella says.

"Huh, that's... Welcome. So listen, now that, you know, you're talking and eating again, you know? You gotta get that protein in there. I was just wondering if you wanted to go see a movie with me," Mike rambles.

"Yeah, sure. Yeah, I do," Bella agrees. Thinking it will help get dad off of her back some more.

"Cool, um, let me see. We could check out 'Love Spelled Backwards Is Love.' Yeah, it's a dumb title, but, um, it's a romantic comedy. I mean, it's supposed to be," Mike suggests.

"No. No romance. How about 'Face Punch?' You heard of that?" Bella asks.

"Well, it's an action movie," Mike says stating the obvious.

"Yeah, it's perfect. With guns and adrenaline, it's my thing," Bella says.

"Okay," Mike says not really liking the idea.

"We should get a bunch of people to go. Do you guys wanna go see 'Face Punch?'" Bella suggests to the group.

"'Face Punch?' Yeah! Mike, hey, we were supposed to watch that? Remember the trailer's like... Yeah? Punch his face in," Eric rambles.

"I don't remember that," Mike says.

"Yay! Movie night with Bella!" Jessica says sarcastically. We decide to go that night. Bella even invited Jacob.

"So, 'Face Punch', huh? You like action movies?" Jacob asks Mike.

"Not really," Mike answers.

"I heard it sucks. Bad," Jacob explains.

"Hey, are you even old enough to see this movie? I mean, you know, without adult supervision? Anna what about you?" Mike questions.

"Right, yeah. Well, she's buying our tickets for us," Jacob explains.

"She's buying it, okay," Mike says. Bella comes back with the tickets.

"Jessica bailed and Angela's got the stomach flu, so Eric's taking care of her. So, it's just us four," Bella explains.

"Great," Jacob says.

"Great," Mike says.

"Yeah," I say awkwardly. We go in and sit down. It's Mike then Bella, then Jacob and lastly me. Jacob and Mike both have their hands up waiting for Bella to hold their hand.

"Put the gun down. Put your gun down or I'm gonna blow your freaking head off. Both of you! Put both of your guns down or I'm gonna blow both of your freaking heads off. Alright, let's do this!" The movie plays in the background. Jacob and I have been laughing through the whole movie. Mike looks sick.
