It's been about two months since the battle where Jacob was hurt and I was made his best friend. For some reason during these two Embry and I grew very close, like dating close. I guess I came to terms with being Jake's best friend. Bella's wedding is in two days and nobody has heard or seen Jake in about a month, so I'm going to go look for him.
(3rd POV)
1 Month Earlier
Jacob walks out of his room and he sees a fancy looking envelope sitting on the table. He picks it up to see that it is an invitation to Bella's wedding. He starts storming outside with Billy following him. "Jake! Jacob!" Billy calls out to him. Jacob reaches outside and throws the invitation down before running into the rain and phasing.
Renee checks her mailbox and finds the invitation to Bella's wedding.
"Phil! It's happening," Renee calls as she walks into the house with a smile on her face.
(ANNA POV)
I head over to Billy's to let him know that I am going to find Jake. After speaking with him and grabbing a pair of Jake's shorts I run into the woods. I'm about to phase when Embry comes up to me.
"What are you doing?" Embry asks.
"I'm going to find Jake," I tell him.
"Why? He chose to run away and block out the pack," Embry says a little mad.
"Because my sister needs him at the wedding and Jake will regret it if he doesn't go," I explain.
"That's his choice, not yours. I need you here. Let him make his own choices," Embry says getting really mad.
"He is my best friend," I say with pain. "I have to be there for him. I can't take seeing my sister and him in pain. If you can't understand that I need to do this then you don't know me at all. I'm going whether you like it or not." I phase and take off. "Don't follow or wait for me. I'm done," I think to Embry. I then block the pack out. I liked Embry, I really did but it just wasn't right, because he is not my imprint and I don't want him getting hurt when the imprint finally happens. I reach the Canadian border and pick up Jake's scent. I follow it all the way up into Northern Canada. Jake is running to somewhere when I finally catch sight of him. I decided to tackle him since he has blocked the pack out. So, I tackle Jake and when I do, we do a little tumble like Simba and Nala do on The Lion King. I end up on top with him on the bottom. He growls but sees that it is me and lifts his block on me.
"Pinned ya!" I think with a chuckle.
"What are you doing here, August?" Jake thinks.
"We need to talk," I think. "Here's a pair of shorts. Phase back." We both go and phase back. "I missed you." I pull Jake into a hug and he hugs back.
"What do we need to talk about?" Jake asks pulling away.
"I know you don't want to hear it, but you need to go to the wedding," I answer. Jake scoffs and rolls his eyes. "Yeah, it sucks because she didn't choose you but you just have to get over that. You are a shifter, you are going to imprint on someone and then all this stuff with Bella will no longer matter. But it will hurt both of you if you do not go to the wedding. So ple.." I get cut off when I feel a pair of lips on mine. I kiss back because it feels so right. I then realize what I am doing and break away from him. I look at him shocked.
"Wow," Jake says.
"You need to forget about what just happened, because of Embry. That shouldn't have happened. I've got to go," I say as I run off.
"Anna!" Jake calls after but I keep running before phasing. I make sure my thoughts are blocked from the pack once I reach the reservation.
