Sometimes Knowing Hurts

Gag Order

(Anna POV)

We get back to the house and I notice that Harry is once again over. Bella busts into the house.

"Dad, I saw them!" Bella yells.

"What's the matter?" He asks.

"In the woods. They are not bears!" Bella exclaims.

"What you mean in the woods? Bella, Anna, what the hell were you both doing out in the woods?" Charlie asks.

"They are wolves. I mean, they're like huge wolves!" Bella explains.

"Are you sure about that, Bella?" Harry asks. He looks at me and I give him a slight nod.

"Yeah, I just saw them. They were after... something," Bella answers.

"Wolves? You saw? Alright. Well, Harry, feel like going hunting? Can you get some of your guys together?" Charlie asks.

"Sure, yeah. I'll... I'll just..." Harry hesitates. They decide to go in a few days. Later that night Charlie has to go to the station after asking me to make sure Bella doesn't leave the house. Jake then comes to Bella's room. He asks her about the stories and I knew then that he had just found a way around the gag order. I decide to wake up before Bella and go see Sam. Bella and I both go to sleep. I wake up before she does and I see that her dreams are clouded by the stories. I leave and go to Billy's figuring that the pack would be there to get Jake. I get there and see Sam, Paul, Jared, and Embry come out of the woods. I run to them.

"Sam, Bella needs to know. Not only is it hurting Jake but it's hurting me. She's my sister and she needs her best friend," I say. I'm hoping to get one of them mad that way they'll phase and go into the woods before Bella gets here. "She's going to figure it out anyways. There's always ways around a gag order especially if the gag was put on a true alpha." I see Jared start to twitch knowing he is getting mad.

"What are you saying? Did Jake tell her?" Jared asks.

"Exactly what I said, there's ways to get past a gag order. Are you even listening to the words that are coming out of my mouth?" I ask backing up because I knew that would push him over the edge. Jared then phases and before Sam can say anything he starts heading for me. I jump and phase as I'm in the air; landing on Jared. We start fighting and end up rolling into the woods. The others run after us. Sam uses the Alpha voice and breaks us apart. Jared and I go phase back before getting dressed. We walk out of the woods and I notice that Bella is there, but before I can stop Sam he whistles for Jake but Bella hears it instead and comes outside. I go and stand beside her ready to protect her. There is an agreement between the pack and me that Bella will never know I'm a shifter until I'm ready to tell her.
"What did you do? Okay, what did you do? Hey! What did you do to him?" Bella yells at Sam.

"Easy!" Sam orders the guys.

"He didn't want this!" Bella yells.

"What did he do? What did he tell you?" Paul asks her getting angry because they clearly didn't believe me.

"Both of you calm..." Sam tries.

"Nothing! He told me nothing because he's scared of you!" Bella yells and Paul decides to laugh. Bella slaps Paul across the face. I start pushing Bella back.

"Too late, now," Jared says as Paul starts shaking.

"Bella, get back. Paul, calm down now," Sam orders.

"Bella, run! Now!" I yell at her before getting ready to phase if I need to. Paul phases and starts stalking towards Bella and I. Bella starts running but falls.

"Bella! Run!" Jake yells coming out of the house and jumping off the porch.

"Jake, run!" Bella yells but he just jumps over her and phases. Paul and Jake start fighting. I luckily had jumped out of the way in time.
