A few days later, Bella is with Jake while the rest of us are on patrol. Apparently, Jake tried to kiss Bella and she punched him hurting her wrist. Jake and I bring Bella home. "Edward," Bella tries as we get out of the car to find Edward already there.
"If you ever touch her against her will again," Edward says getting in Jake's face.
"Don't do this," Bella tries.
"She's not sure what she wants," Jake argues.
"Don't do this," Bella tries again. I'm pissed and hurt that Jake tried to kiss her.
"Well, let me give you a clue. Wait for her to say the words," Edwards says.
"Fine. And she will," Jake says.
"Jacob. Just go, okay," Bella tries. Jake and Edward get ready to fight. Charlie then comes outside.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey. Easy guys, easy. Let's take it down a notch. Alright?" Charlie says getting between them. "What's going on?"
"I kissed Bella. And she broke her hand. Punching my face. Total misunderstanding," Jake says before leaving.
A week goes by and it's graduation time for everyone. I'm graduating early so I don't have to worry about school with patrol and all. We are now at the party that Alice threw and I'm hanging out with Bella.
"Hey. What'd you think of my speech? Too easy-breezy, too self-helpful? You may admit it," Jessica asks coming up to us.
"No, you pretty much nailed it," Bella says.
"Yeah? It's like I was born to lead, right? Oh, great. I love this song, let's go," Jessica says before dragging Angela off with her. Jake, Embry, and Quil then walk into the party.
"What are you doing here?" Bella asks.
"You invited me, remember?" Jake says.
"Was my right hook too subtle for you? That was me uninviting you," Bella says.
"Look, Bella. I'm sorry about, you know. The kiss and your hand. I'd blame it on the whole inner animal thing but it was really just... me. Being an ass. I'm really sorry. I brought you something. A graduation present. I made it myself," Jake says pulling a bracelet out of his pocket. I get super jealous.
"Oh... You made this? It's really pretty. Thanks," Bella says before she looks up. I look and Alice stops on the staircase having a vision. "I'll be right back. Alice, what did you see?" I follow her as we walk up to Alice.
"The decision's been made," Alice says. I look at Jake, Embry, and Quil before motioning for them to follow.
"What's going on?" Bella asks as we all enter a room. I stand with the pack. "You're not going to Seattle?"
"No. They're coming here. They'll be here in four days," Alice explains.
"This could turn into a bloodbath. Who's behind it?" Carlisle asks.
"I didn't see anyone I recognize. Maybe one..." Alice trails off.
"I know his face. He's local, Riley Biers. He didn't start this," Edward says.
"Whoever did is staying out of the action. They must be playing with the blind spots in your vision," Jasper says.
"Either way, the army is coming and there aren't enough of us to protect the town," Alice says.
"Hold up. What damn army?" Jake asks.
"Newborns. Our kind," Carlisle answers.
"What are they after?" Jake asks.
"They were passing around Bella's scent. A red blouse," Alice answers.
"They're after Bella? What the hell does this mean?" Jake asks.
"It means an ugly fight. With lives lost," Carlisle says. Jake turns and looks at us. We each give him a nod.
"Alright. We're in," Jake says.
"No. You'll get yourselves killed, no way," Bella says.
"I wasn't asking for permission," Jake says.
"Edward," Bella tries.
"It means more protection for you," Edward says.
"Jacob, Anna. Do you believe Sam will agree to an understanding?" Carlisle asks.
"As long as we get to kill some vampires," Jake says.
"Jasper?" Edward asks.
"They'll give us the numbers. And the newborns won't know they even exist. That'll give us an edge," Jasper explains.
"We'll need to coordinate," Carlisle states.
"Carlisle, they'll gonna get hurt," Bella tries.
"We'll all need some training. Fighting newborns requires knowledge that Jasper has. You're welcome to join us," Carlisle explains.
"Alright. Name the time and place," Jake says.
"Jake. You don't know what you're getting yourself in to," Bella says.
"Bella. This is what we do. You should be happy. Look at us, working together. You're the one who wanted us to get along, remember?" Jake says. Jake, Embry, Quil and I leave to talk with Sam. It's decided that we will meet the next day to practice.
