(Authors note: When I say she is in foster care I mean an orphanage. Just relized that mistake. Sorry! She is in an orphanage for now till she gets adopted into a family. Sorry again guys!)
I wake up to and are instantly warm from the heater being over my bed. I already know where I am and don't need to be reminded. I open my eyes slightly and through my messy hair see Alan without a shirt on. I close my eyes and turn my head a bit, trying to be somewhat respectful of his privacy, then again, there is a bathroom for a reason.
"I know you're awake, don't you dare try to go back to sleep."
"Fine, fine."
I sit up and go to my bag. I grab a pair of black, slick yoga pants and a big jersey along with a hairbrush and hair tie. I go to the bathroom and change then put my hair in a ponytail as best I can. I brush my teeth quickly and drop the tooth brush back the cup, walking out to see Alan already, ready for breakfast. I quickly slide on my converse and he watches me, waiting for me. When I finish he offers a hand, helping me off the bed. I take it and we walk out. Willow soon meets us in the hallway on the way to the cafeteria.
"Well, well, well. Look who decided to get up!"
"Yeah, yeah, I know," I say messing with my ponytail to make it a bit looser.
"So, how was the first night back?"
Memories of last night rush back. I can feel a red tint about to appear on my cheeks but I cut it off my speaking.
"Same old, same old."
"Alan if you did anything to her I swear to-"
"He didn't do anything. You know him better than that." I say elbowing her while cutting her off.
"Plus if he did I would be the best person to handle it."
"Why are you guys talking about me like I'm not right here? I wouldn't lay a finger on her anyway."
"Willow!"
We quickly turn to see another guy with black hair that is spiked up, wearing ripped up jeans, a tight black shirt, and Romeo's shoes come up to us.
"Zane!"
Willow rushes off without hesitation and jumps into his arms. He catches her and mid-air.
"Zane, Willows boyfriend of three years now. Can't stop making dirty jokes, making out with her and wears tight t-shirts or no shirts to show off his abs he got from smuggled in steroids. Don't know what she sees in him. He left before you came and she was heartbroken. Refused to talk about him. Did I mention how great it was that your back? You should go talk some sense into her."
"Girl code. Can't diss a girls boyfriend unless he broke her heart. Then you're allowed to ruin his life till she gets over him."
"Why is girl code so complicated?"
"What about guy code?"
"Don't date each other's ex. Any cute girl is fair game or you pull sticks. That's it. What about you?"
"Don't date each other's ex without permission. Any guy is fair game, whoever he chooses is the winner. Dibs is also okay but you better be a quick talker."
"See that, that is confusing."
I roll my eyes at him and look back to Willow who just ran off. I quickly look away, regretting looking over at them. I did not know a person's jaw could unhinge like that. It just completely unhinged like a snake.
"Beth!" Willow shouts at me and I can hear her almost breathless.
I look over to see them walking over like they didn't just try to eat each other's faces. Alan smiles at me.
