I wake up soon to the front door slamming shut. I jolt up and rub my neck with my cold fingers to make myself wake up better. I breath out and see my own breath. It's so cold. I stand up and walk out not realizing at first that my cast is off. I smile at the fact that it doesn't hurt. I quickly rush downstairs and see every single window open and snow piled on the screens. I run quickly closing all the windows. I race over to the heater and turn it on. It is so cold.
I look around at the mess covered floor. Ever since I have been out later it has been a mess. I look around some more and spot something on the coffee table. I walk over crossing my arms and rubbing them over the goosebumps. I pick up the sticky note and read it. On it says 'Had to go, be back at 11 PM. love ya.'
I crumple it and throw it away.
"I need to pick up this place."
The house slowly starts to warm up. I grab my phone and a speaker putting it by the window that shows into the living room. I turn on my number one playlist. I also change into P.J.'s wanting to be comfortable. I clean up the house with a dance in every step. I pick up plates and dishes dancing every single step of the way. If I am standing still, I am tapping my foot and shaking my hips and singing along.
I smile as I slide across the floor with my socks on. My music soon stops though and a ring of a text message sounds. I look over and tuck my hair behind my ears as I reach down to pick up my phone. The music continues to play as I check my messages. I see one in the group chat of with all of us. I click on it and read the text.
Trever: You all wanna hang out?
Gray: Sure
L.J. I got nothing better to do
A: Alright
Mason: Where at?
Trever: You there Beth?
Me: Yep, I'm free
Trever: Grays house?
Gray: No
Trever: Mason?
Mason: Parents are home
L.J.: Can't be my house
A: Don't even ask
Gray: Beth, your dad home?
Beth: No, and no, you guys are not coming to my house.
Trever: It's settled then, going to Beth's house
Me: You all planned this in a different group chat didn't you?
A: Yep, be there in ten
Me: Fifteen, or you'll meet a locked door
Trever: There is windows
Me: Locked windows.
Mason: Fine. Be there in twenty
Me: >:|
Gray: See ya soon
I quickly clean a whole lot faster and start up my music again. I continue to clean till I see five cars pull into my neighborhood ten minuets later. I run upstairs and put on a pair of leggings and a t-shirt. I rush down and because my music is so loud I didn't hear them knock. They are standing at my door. I turn off the music and they look at me through the window. I smile at them and cross my arms. They reach for the door handle and meet the locked door. A throws his hands in the air. I throw my head back feeling bad seeing them in the snow and go to the door.
