Present Day
Sarah drove aimlessly after she left the hospital. She wanted to forget about what happened 6 years before but memories were rushing back. You can't let it get to you. You chose this and you have to make it." Lagi niyang sinasabi sa sarili especially when times became really, really rough. She missed talking with him. Seeing him smile. Hearing his breathing whenever he falls asleep while talking with her on the phone. He missed his laugh! What she would give to hear it kapag pressured siya. When her thoughts would stray here, she would reign back her feelings and work harder.
Her vision was getting blurry and all her pent up emotions were rushing out like a broken dam. She had to stop driving and get out of the car. She needed some air.
Pagkalabas niya ng kotse, napansin niya na nakarating na pala siya sa Antipolo and the road where she parked was a ravine overlooking the city. She leaned on the car and let all her feelings go. She was sobbing uncontrollably. She was crying for all the lost years without him, for hurting him. She was crying for herself and her choices. She was crying for her father who didn't know any better. Memories suddenly flooded back to that day 6 years ago.....
It was about 5 days later when Sarah and Gerald were able to get a license for their simple wedding ceremony. Gerald informed her mother who was surprised and skeptical about the suddenness of their decision but felt that he was at the right age to decide for himself. Unfortunately, she couldn't attend the ceremony because of work. The whole time, naiisip na din ni Sarah na sabihin sa dad niya ang kanilang desisyon but she was scared of his reaction. She held off her decision until the last minute. That morning, she told Gerald that she was going to her dad's hotel to talk to him. Gerald insisted to accompany her but she was adamant to go alone.
"Babe, baka magkasakitan lang kayo ni Dad. Hindi ko alam kung anong mood meron siya when I get there. .. I'll call you agad after I talk to him so you can follow if ever."
"Okay, pero remember, I don't necessarily agree with you going alone. Ano na lang sasabihin ng dad mo? Wala akong backbone?" Gerald reminded her.
"Explain ko na lang sa kanya ang lahat..whether he likes it or not, nakapag decide na ako that this is what I want. I'm actually excited!" Napangiting sabi ni Sarah. "New life...with the man I love. And I could pursue my dreams. Ganito pala feeling ni Cinderella when she was saved by her Prince Charming" Pabirong sinabi niya.
"Binobola mo na naman ako babe ha? Gusto mo sa labas na lang ako ng hotel?" tanong ng binata.
"Eh di ba, you have to have something signed pa before the ceremony? Baka di tayo umabot. Basta, I'll meet you there at 10am sharp. Judge Tony Zimmer, room 341 right?"
"Okay, I trust you and I love you!" And with that they shared the sweetest kiss as they both hoped for their future together.
Sarah had mixed feelings going to the hotel. Excited, scared, angry... She was dressed in a soft white cardigan over a simple sleeveless floral dress with pink hues that reached above her knee. She bought it 2 days before and liked it because it felt very feminine. And so fitting for someone looking forward to be a wife to Mr. Gerald Anderson. Tinuon na lang niya ang isip sa kanyang nobyo to distract her from her fears. She couldn't believe that as the days passed, she was more in love than ever. And he loves her back! Ang haba talaga ng hair ko!
