Gerald Anderson, the actor on the verge of stardom, disclosing his secret love affair with a non-showbiz girl Dr. Sarah Geronimo, replacing THE Jessy Mendiola, was the most recent scandal that rocked showbiz. The press were all over the story finding angles to explain what went wrong: the autopsy of a perfect love story gone wrong. Gerald was vilified by quite a number for replacing Jessy at such short notice. At the orders of management, they made Gerald the scumbag. Her fans were the loudest in social networking sites condemning Gerald and assassinating his character. However, being truly a genuine person, his fans started to mobilize and show their support. In the first few days, trending topics were always on top such as:

People took sides but his supporters put the word out on Gerald’s character by spreading anecdotes on the people whose lives he touched. The public started to know him as a person and not just the actor in the glitzy world of showbiz. Those voicing out their support grew in number and one by one, they came out. Fans started to pose pictures bearing a sign that says,
“Ipaglalaban ka namin Gerald Anderson”
And in the coming weeks, this became viral. Fans from all over the world posed at various landmarks from the leaning tower of Pisa to the Eiffel Tower, with the Grand canyon or Niagara falls as backdrop and even in the dunes of middle east countries. The outpouring of support translated to unprecedented ratings for Gerald’s teleserye which extended for months as it was unbeatable during primetime. Gerald Anderson was not just on the verge of stardom. He was a star. And he showed other people that he didn’t have to dance to the game to succeed. He somehow earned his dues and got the respect he deserved. By the time his contract was due, he knew that can finally hold his own.

When the TV series was about to finish, Gerald decided to gather his loyal supporters and treat them to dinner. He gave them free reign to choose the venue/restaurant and organize a short program reserving the final number for him (he planned a surprise).
On his way to a small clubhouse in Quezon City for the thanksgiving dinner, Gerald called Sarah,
“Hello babe?” Gerald said.
“Hi babe! Are you on your way?” “
Yeah, Nasan ka na? Dapat sinundo na lang kita eh...don’t know why you kept on insisting that you’ll drive to the place. Medyo malayo siya..” He felt it was time to introduce Sarah to his supporters whom he considers his friends.
