Chapter 13

It was already night time and the team managed to get rooms on a nearby hotel from the agency. They thought it would be wise to be near the vicinity while investigating.

The monk and priestess couple went to the hospital with a few officers to watch out for the latest victim.

Naru, Gene and Lin where having a discussion that she cannot comprehend, the researchers - Madoka and Yasu went off somewhere, while John and Masako are taking their much needed rest for the day.

With nothing much to do, she went out of the room only to see Yuki in front of their door.

"Mai! Where are you off to? Does Naru know about this? "

With a frown she answered, "I have no reason to tell him about any of my wandering moments. If you'll excuse me. "

She left the amused girl and continued walking.

She stopped in one room and entered it without care because she knows that no one will see her and she was astounded by the size of it.

It was an event hall. Chandeliers on the ceiling and a grand stage in front. It is currently decorated poshly as if some grand performance will ensue in a few days or so.

"Wow. "

She went on stage and she imagined herself as a model and tried to walk on it while smiling. She then saw flashes of light as if photos were taken and she heard applauses from the.... crowd?!

What the?

She then saw some models on the cat walk modelling some fancy clothes.

And...

She definitely saw the three model victims.

By the end of it, the last person who walked out of the backstage is...

Katherine??!

She looked fabulous with the fancy outfit and the crowd loves her, earning a standing ovation and loud applauses.

What is going on??

She closed her eyes for a bit and once opened she is back on stage alone.

"Mai! "

Snapping out of her own world she looked at the entrance of the event hall and saw Naru with a furrowed eyebrows.

"What are you doing here? "

"Nothing in particular. Just trying out the stage. Would you like to join? "

"Why would I do that? And if Yuki had not said that you went off alone I wouldn't be here. "

She scoffed. "I'm a ghost Naru, NO ONE can see me... Well, except you guys."

"I know that sarcasm is somewhere on that response, but let me just remind you that for some odd reason other entities are somewhat fond of you and we are here to protect you and send you off peacefully. "

She knows that he had made a point but she tried to not show it on her face.

Walking behind him as they go back to their room she thought of the events that she saw.

Was that a previous event or just a mere imagination?
