Chapter 14

The team plus Katherine opted to visit Erika from the hospital.

When they arrived, the girl is with her manager probably talking about her next project after being discharge.

From their point of view the girl is looking better after just her two days rest in the hospital with just minimal injuries from the attack.

She's one lucky person. Thought Mai.

After a few minutes their presence were noticed. Well, more like only one person...

"Katherine! You have the nerve to show up this late! " exclaimed Erika.

"I'm sorry Erika. I meet up with them as their guide to come here and visit you."

As if just noticing their presence, she composed herself. "Oh..  You are those guys with the police when Riko died."

"Good morning Erika. We just came to check how you're doing. " Gene said.

"Well, thank you. I'm doing great as you can see. The doctor just talked to me and mentioned that I'll be discharge today. "

"That's great to hear. "

An awkward silence followed but it was broken by Naru.

"Ms. Kishimoto, we also came here to ask you if you are aware that Michiko Uemura is into dark stuffs. "

"You mean to say, occult and stuff? "

He nodded.

"Yes. We were friends before being rivals in this line of work so I know her hobbies. And one of them is about the supernatural. Why do you asked? "

He did not answer. His mind is trying to piece things together to solve the mystery behind the attack.

Is it really possible that the dead Uemura is the person that had started this all?

He was woken from his stupor when he heard a shriek.

Katherine stumbled into a chair while trying to get near Erika's bed.

"Little miss are you alright? " asked Monk.

She nodded while the gentleman of the team, Gene and John assisted her on getting up.

As she was trying to put the things that fell out of her bag in place something  caught his attention but kept his stoic expression in place.

Though Mai noticed the change and looked at what he's looking at.

She gasped and brown eyes met his blue ones.

Naru don't tell me you're thinking that.

Without further discussion he went out followed by Mai.

"Naru wait! "

"You saw it too Mai. She has to be the perpetrator!"

She was right he saw Katherine's book. It was one about supernatural.

"Owning that book doesn't mean that she had summoned the demon! "

"How can you say that?! We now have three victims. It is good that the last one survived but who else will die if she was not stopped!"

"She's not it Naru!" she argued back.

He breathed for air and glared at her. "How are you sure? "

"I... I don't know.. I just.. I just know it's not Katherine. "

He looked at her. Trying to read her.

"Let's leave it at that for now and continue our investigation. We don't need any more casualties. " and without looking back he went off.
