She couldn't count on just two hands how many times she'd practiced exactly what she'd say to him if he ever talked to her, yet now that the time had come, only one word left her mouth,
"Hi."
She wanted to kick herself. Not only didn't She not know what to say next, but time was running out too. Things would get awkward soon. He must have felt the tension too, because he randomly blurted,
"Want to work on the project?"
"Now?"
He shrugged and grabbed his drink off the counter. "I've got the book with me."
"Okay."
That said, she grabbed her tea and followed him back to his table.
