AIDEN
Being nervous about everything concerning her was a part of his nature, he knew that, but he'd forgotten how much until now.
He sat in his usual seat waiting for her. He practiced what he would say and calculated the chances of her rejecting him until his mouth was worn out from mumbling.
To distract himself, he got up and ordered her tea. She was seated in the chair next to his when he returned to the table.
"Hey." She greeted, smiling in thanks when he handed her the drink.
"Hi." He croaked before clearing his throat.
She gazed at him in concern as she took a sip of her drink. "Are you okay?"
He nodded quickly. "Yea, um...bad coffee."
She set her tea down. "You're a bad liar. What's going on?"
In his original plan, he didn't ask her out until the end of their study date. By setting things up this way, if and when she rejected him, he wouldn't have time to do anything stupid or embarrassing.
He looked at her for a second and contemplated the odds of her allowing him to keep what was bugging him a secret.
They weren't very high.
"I-I..."
A little frown formed on her face, and she grabbed his head in hers. "Hey..."
"Wanttogooutwithme?"
