Jen's POV
It was finally the next day, I got up before Jess. She never puts an alarm, but I do which meant I would beat her to the bathroom. I went to the bathroom with my bag, showered, brushed my teeth, etc. you know all the regular things you do in the morning.
I was doing my make up when Jess finally decided to wake up and race to the bathroom, yeah she knew we were late.
"Has Noah gotten his car fixed?" I ask hoping I wouldn't have to wait again today.
"No sorry Jen. He's gonna have it by tomorrow, I know how you don't like waiting."
"It's fine, but hurry up we still need to go pick him up." I grabbed my bag and went downstairs to wait for her. Then my Tia Erika walked in.
"Hola mijita como estas." Even though I see her everyday she always gets excited to see me, we just have that bond.
"Bien Tia y usted? Como estan todos aqui?" {Translation: Good auntie and you? How is everyone here?}
"Aye estamos bien pero ya sabes como es tú prima con la escuela." She scoffs, Jess is actually really good in school, but her mom wants her to be number one and that just won't happen. {Translation: Aye we're good but you know how your cousin is in school.}
You could hear Jess coming down the stairs, I knew she heard everything her mom had to say, but at this point she didn't care anymore.
"Bueno Tia ya nos vamos. Adios! Te amo!" I say walking out the door with Jess, if we would've stayed longer that house would've turned into a war zone. We entered my car and started driving to Noah's.
"Ugh it's everyday with the same shit. I'm not even doing bad!" Jess says frustrated.
"I know I know but that's how they are we can't change them."
"I just can't keep taking this!"
"Jess you got this. You're strong, beautiful, and smart as heck. You're gonna leave your mark on this high school, you'll make them proud, even if you don't I'm still proud of you." I say reassuring her.
"Okay that was cute, but can you please just cuss for once!" I laughed. We finally made it to Noah's house but we hurried because they obviously wanted alone time. We finally made it to school and they raced out of my car, while I stayed there thinking about last night.
"Then you don't know one fucking thing about being flirty!" He was right, I didn't. I hadn't been in a relationship nor had I ever gotten close with a boy like that. It's not that I didn't want to, but there a whole long story behind that. I decided to stop thinking about this and just get to class.
I got out of my car and went to the trunk of the car. Thank god this time my bag didn't go anywhere, I was organizing my bag quickly when Shawn pulled up in his motorcycle. He was wearing black shoes, black pants, and a gray short sleeve button up.
He looked at me, but I rolled my eyes and walked away. He was following close behind me I was gonna say something until my cousin Sophia interrupted me.
"Hey Jen. So uh I have a question about the team you're on, the one you're dad coaches?"
"Strikers?" I ask with Shawn still following close behind us.
"Yeah so I was wondering when try outs are? You guys said I could try out when I get to high school and here I am." I knew she wanted to play with us and I wanted her on the team, but I don't want her getting hurt.
"Look I know you love soccer and our team, but those games can get brutal. They like playing dirty." I wanted to make sure she knew what she was getting into.
