Shawn's POV
*Graduation Day*
"And now I would like to welcome our 2018 Valedictorian, Jennifer Martinez."
She walked up the stage looking beautiful as ever. There she was, the beautiful girl that I fell in love with, ready to give her speech.
"Students, parents, staff, we've been brought together on this beautiful day to celebrate our high school years as one..."
She always did have a way with words, something about the way she worded everything just made you so relaxed.
"We have come together to celebrate our gains, losses, sleepless nights, endless amount of homework, and hundreds of more things. Ending high school is just the beginning to our long road of life with our families, our friends, and our significant others..." She looks at me as I sat in the front row.
We smile at each other and I mouth to her 'I love you'.
"Thank you students for working your hardest and showing everyone just how much we're made of. Thank you parents for buying us all our supplies needed and for holding our hand throughout our lives. Thank you teachers for educating us and showing us all the potential we had. Most importantly, thank you high school, you showed us that we have what it takes. Thank you everyone!"
She waves as we all stand up. We stand side by side, holding hands as our graduation comes to an end.
"Okay students, move your tassel from the right to the left." We all do as she says.
"Congratulations everyone! You are official high school graduates!" Everyone cheers around us, throwing their caps in the air.
Jen and I look at each other, we kiss, it's nothing like before. This is more passionate, like we've never kissed before.
"Ready to see our families baby?" I ask her looking down at her.
"Ready as I'll ever be." She said as we walked out of the gates of our school.
Jen met my parents officially on our six month anniversary, let me tell you, they loved her. My mom told me not to ever hurt her, my dad said that I got myself a good woman, and Aaliyah always liked her from the start.
We made it outside and there they were, our families talking and getting along perfectly fine.
"There the lovebirds are!" My dad pointed at us while everyone turned their attention to us.
Everyone congratulated us on our graduation, they expressed their feelings about Jen's amazing speech, and we took tons of pictures.
We all left to my house because we were having a graduation party there.
*Later That Night*
Jen's POV
Everyone was showing up quickly at this graduation party, mostly family, and a few friends.
Something was weighing on my mind throughout this whole day... what's gonna happen to Shawn and I's relationship?
I was accepted into Stanford University, while Shawn said he wanted to further his career in boxing. He wanted to make it big, becoming the world champion.
We haven't exactly talked about how the whole long distance thing would work out for us, but I wanted to make it work.
I had hopes that we would move in with each other after high school, considering how serious we are. From the looks of it, Shawn and I won't be moving in together anytime soon. I so badly wanted to talk to him about our situation, but I knew that now wasn't the time, now was meant to enjoy each other's presence while we still could.
I was talking with Jess when Shawn interrupted us.
"Hey Jess, mind if I steal her?" He asked.
"You already did about nine months ago, but you know go ahead." We laughed and he pulled me away.
He directed me to his room upstairs, I knew he didn't want to do anything sexual, even if he did now wasn't the time, maybe later..
"What are we doing here?" I turn around to see him holding something behind his back.
"I have two questions for you." He was nervous, I could tell.
"Go ahead, don't be nervous." He nodded and continued on.
"I don't know how you're gonna feel about this, but fuck it." He pulled out a small box, while I gasped holding my hands to my mouth.
"For a while I admired you from afar, not knowing much about you, but still seeing the beauty that is you. Finally we talked and it felt like my world was son fire, the one girl that actually made me feel anything talked to me. We eventually fell in love and fuck I love you more and more each day. This isn't an engagement, but a promise. A promise that I will love you, stay faithful to you, and that I will one day make you my wife. I will make you the happiest girl in the world, we're gonna have a family with I don't cafe how many children, but a family at most. I promise to one day make this an engagement ring baby."
I was practically sobbing while I nodded my head and he slipped the promise ring on my ring finger. It was gorgeous, if I didn't know any better I would think it's an engagement ring.
"Also another thing." He reached in his back pocket.
"No, my heart can't handle anything else." We laugh.
He pulls out a key from his back pocket.
"Let move in together. I got is an apartment by Stanford, a condo actually. I can continue training over there while you go to school, please baby."
"Of course I'll move in with you!" I wrap my arms around his neck while we just hug and kiss.
Eventually, we make it back downstairs and every single girl there was drooling over my ring while the guys were telling Shawn to 'get it'.
The once bad boy won the heart of the good girl..
