Shawn's POV

*Wednesday Morning*

"We were never meant to be Shawn. Leave me alone and let me be happy with him." She turns to Ivan and kisses him.

That was us, that use to be fucking us. How could she break my fucking heart.

"I thought we had something..." I croak

"Shawn we were never anything." Okay that broke me even more, what's gotten into her?

"Shawn, Shawn, shawn, hello shawn?" I hear until I'm shaked awake and I shoot up.

"Chill man, you're late for school." Aaliyah says walking away.

"Fuck." I grab my phone from the charger and see the time is 7:19. Shit, I was suppose to drive Jen to school today. I have to text her.

Me: Hey baby, I'm sorry I didn't pick you up I overslept. I hope you didn't wait.

I rush over to the bathroom doing my regular morning routine. I walked over to my closet and chose black jeans, burgundy short sleeve button up, and my leather jacket.

I go back into my bathroom to see Jen texted me back.

Baby💛: It's okay Shawn. Jess needed a ride either way, don't be late for English! Also be safe lol

She was the cutest when she worried for me. I quickly went to my Range Rover and drove to school.  As soon as I got out of my car the bell already rang that class was in session. I might as well take my time now that I'm already late, you can't be late twice right?

I reached Mrs. Smith's classroom and it looks like we were in the middle of a discussion about The Crucible.

"Ah Mr. Mendes why are late?"

"Won't happen again." I sat down in my seat and she just continued speaking about the book. I looked over at Jen, wondering why she hasn't spoken to me yet. She was actually paying attention, of course she is, she's one of those students that teachers love because she actually cares while the rest of us couldn't give two fucks about school. She was biting down her lip while writing notes down, shit that was hot.

"Okay class. Grab your ID's and let's head to the library to pick up our books." Jen and I dug in our backpacks to look for our ID's. We were some of the last ones to leave class.

"Wow, looks like you were totally into that lesson." I laugh.

"It was interesting! All the witchcraft and the ignorance of people. They were afraid of nothing, literally nothing, reminds me of home."

"What, they have witchcraft in Mexico."

"Who knows really. They did call my Tita a witch because almost every man wanted her when she was young, they thought she put some love sleep on them." She laughed.

"Oh darling, if we were in Mexico everyone would think you're a witch with those looks." She blushes.

I take a good look at her and notice we're matching. She's wearing a burgundy tank top, black sweater, black ripped jeans, and her black vans.

I always loved it when she wore tank tops, the really compliment her body. She has that perfect body that every guy wants to fuck and every wants to have.

"Are you done checking me out?" I smirk.

"You know it baby."

We were currently in Jen's house and we brought Aaliyah with us cause why not? They seem to be getting along great.

"Are you going to Shawn's fight this Friday?" Aaliyah asks.

"You have a fight? You didn't tell me anything." She turns to me confused.

"Darling you're gonna be working, plus I don't want you to watch my fight ma and have you think I'm a monster..." I lower my head.

When Aaliyah first started coming to my fights, she thought everything was too harsh. We would get into fights because she wanted me to stop, but I wouldn't. The fights continued, but one day it went too far, I almost hit her, when that happened she kept calling me a monster.

Although, lately she's been going to my fights, it doesn't seem to bother her anymore. I don't want what happened with Aaliyah to happen with Jennifer.

"I'm going. I'll get Jess to cover for me so I can leave early." That's my girl, she knows what she wants and she gets it.

"So, Jen, is it true that your whole family lives in this neighborhood?" Aaliyah asked her. We had heard some rumors that her family owns all the houses in the neighborhood.

"Yeah it's true. My parents wanted our family close and that's exactly what they did."

"Are you not from here either?"

"Oh my god Aaliyah. Are you investigating her or some shit?" I say because she was asking too many questions.

"It's okay honey," Jen reassured me "To answer your question, no I'm not from here. I moved here when I was 6 very close to 7."

"I like your girlfriend better than you." Jen blushes, she's so cute when she gets all awkward.

"You know Aaliyah, go downstairs and pick a movie we can watch."

"Okay!" She leaves the room, now it's only Jen and I.

"What was Mexico like?" She looks at me confused.

"Huh? What?"

"I wanna know more about you darling, so what was Mexico like in your eyes?" I wanted to know what her childhood was like, what she experienced, I wanted to know her for all that she is.

"Mexico was... beautiful and colorful and just amazing. In my town everyone knew everyone and there were no problems, but that town wasn't enough for us. We couldn't stay in my beautiful country knowing we could have better opportunities here, so we left in hopes of better lives."

"Do you regret it?"

"No. It gave me what I needed in life. I did what I had to do to get over here because I knew no matter how much I loved Guadalajara, it wasn't what I needed."

"You can just never stop amazing me huh?" I smile.

"I guess not. Now c'mon let's go help Aaliyah pick a movie." She said dragging me downstairs.

She is beautiful, strong, and smart. Never in my years did I think I could get a girl like her, she truly is one of a kind. I think I know what feeling I'm getting.
