Anna's POV
I sigh heavily, resting my head in my arms in homeroom.
"They still mad at you?" Summer sits next to me as usual.
"Yep, still ignoring me. Well, my mum and especially Steve are getting there I suppose, but still no response from Adam or Logan."
"You would think with it being a week ago now, that your own step brothers would have forgiven you," Summer huffs.
"I wish. It's surprising to me how quickly someone can turn their back on you," I mutter.
"What about Brett and Louis?" Summer enquires.
"Just about back to normal, I think they know something isn't quite right about all of this, but they told me last night that they spoke to Adam and he said Hazel would never hurt a fly, "it isn't in her nature," apparently. So their not gonna do anything else I'm guessing. They have enough on their plate anyway, what with senior year and everything," I say matter of factly.
I told Summer and my friends what I did to Hazel, but I was vague about what mean things she said to me and I skipped out my eating part.
"I really hope it all works out Anna, none of us girls think you deserve all this backlash," she sweetly says. "It must have been funny to see her flailing down the flume," she bursts out laughing.
"Thanks Summer! It was," I giggle and I give her a side hug.
"What about having a girls night? We could invite the others and have a sleepover with movies and snacks!" She squeals.
"I won't be allowed to have it at mine," I pull a face, "and it would just be awkward with my family there."
"No, silly! I mean at mine!" Summer says impatiently, grinning.
"Okay, great! But can we wait until next weekend, when I'm not grounded please?" I grin.
"Of course! Let's talk to the others at lunch when we are all there."
--------------------------
"What do you think?" I say after Summer tells Kenzie, Jade and Sophia her idea.
"OMG yes!" Kenzie squeals.
"We haven't done anything fun like that in ages!" Sophia nods.
"I call dibs on picking the first movie!" Jade laughs.
"Great, then it's decided!" I grin.
"So, seven at mine, not this coming Saturday but next Saturaday!" Summer smiles.
--------------------------
When I get home, I go into the kitchen and grab a glass of water. All of the boys (execpt Brett, he dropped me and Louis off as he had to go to a sports shop for something) as usual, are grabbing snacks before dinner later, but me, I can't snack.
Over this last week or so I have successfully mangaged to skip lunch at school and just have a piece of fruit, usually an apple, and I make up excuses when my friends enquire why I'm not eating. But, breakfast and dinner time at home have not been so easy - some days I've gotten away with eating a piece of fruit or half of a granola bar for breakfast but dinner I have to have at least half of my plate for them not to suspect something is wrong. As a result, it's hindering my progress.
Adam is the last one to finish grabbing food before heading wherever, so I try again to talk to him.
"Adam, please don't ignore me anymore," I say bluntly, at the breakfast bar.
