This chapter is a little different, it's a flashback on Brett, Louis' and Anna's childhood.

Anna's POV (Eight Years Old)
For some reason, in our neighbourhood or rather town, the elementary school finishes a bit later than the middle school. But, I suppose Brett and Louis leave before me in the morning so they probably start a little earlier than me.
Everyday, (except Mondays as that's when they have soccer practice) without fail, one or both of my brothers wait for me at my bus stop, two blocks away from where we live.
Roughly a year ago, mummy went back to work and since then, since I've started elementary school, it's been my brothers responsibility to walk me home from the bus stop.
Daddy is a contractor, he has his own builders scrap yard five minutes away from our house and he buys old or battered tractors or machinery of any sorts. He reconstructs and "does them up" which he then either sells or most of the time he'll contract out his machinery and vehicles to other companies and people who need it.
As always, I squint my eyes and press my face near (without touching) to the window, in attempt to see Brett or Louis waiting for me at my bus stop in the distance.
It's just Louis today.
"Hey Anna banana," he says as I step off the bus, after thanking Jane, our bus driver.
"Lou!" I wrap my little arms around his waist.
"Anna, get off, we're in public," he chuckles and ruffles my hair before gently removing my arms from his waist.
None of my brothers like me hugging them in front school bus kids but who cares? I love them.
"Here, I'll take your bag," he takes my purple polka dot rucksack off my back (which is almost as big as me) and slings it effortlessly onto his shoulder.
"Thank you," I say out of habit.
I put my hand into his and he walks me home.
"You had a good day, bud?"
"Yeah! I drew a picture and practiced my spellings and did math!" I skip alongside Lou's long strides, trying my best to keep up.
"That's good Annie, - did you get any homework?" He asks me as we turn into our road.
"I got a sheet for English and a math sheet," I reply.
"Aw, that sucks," and I giggle in reply.
"Yay! Daddy's home!" I notice his truck in the driveway.
"Yeah," Louis unlocks the door and leads me inside.
"Daddy! Daddy!" I run down the hallway and I spot daddy's office on the right - he's probably in there.
Suddenly two strong arms grab me from behind and lift me into the air, I squeal in surprise and then I realise it's Brett.
"Anna, you can't go see Dad yet, he's on an important phone call," Brett knows me too well, whenever daddy's home early I like to go straight to his study to find him.
