"Mario...? Mario...?!" He woke up groggily from the call of his own name. Mario took in his new surroundings. He noticed he wasn't in the Mushroom Kingdom anymore. "Mamma Mia, where am I?" He thought. At that moment, he realized something. "Where's Luigi?" He looked around for him.
All he saw was a brown fox-like creature with a brown bushy tail with a cream-colored tip and a furry cream colored scruff around its neck that looked like a furry scarf. He noticed that the Eevee that wasn't facing him was wearing Luigi's green hat on his brown furry head and wore his green shirt and dark blue overalls. This Pokémon was wearing his brother's clothes!
"Luigi?!" Mario called. The Eevee turned his head and faced him.
M-Mario?! Is that really you?" Luigi's voice came from the Eevee.
"Luigi!! Yes it's a me" Mario said in relief.
Luigi ran towards his brother and hugged him tightly. "Grazie bonta sei qui, fratello" he spoke in Italian. (Translation:thank goodness you're here, brother)
"I didn't really recognize you without your mustache..." Luigi added.
"Va Tutto bene, sono qui e io saro sempre qui" Mario softly spoke. (Translation: it's alright, I'm here and I'll always be here)
Luigi wiped the tears out of his eyes with a paw and cracked a small smile on his face. He began to wag his tail happily.
Suddenly Mario realized something. "But wait... We don't have our mustaches???"
"No..."
"Oh no... Come on Luigi we need to hide..." Suddenly, Mario pulled Luigi behind a tree. "Did anyone see???"
"Mario... I think we're okay. I think we're Pokémon now..." Luigi told him.
"Yeah... I guess you're right..." Mario hugged Luigi tightly. "I'm just glad you're okay, bro..."
Klefki flew around them. They both watched her. "That's enough hugging for now you two. We better get a move on" she replied. She flew into Luigi's cream colored scruff as he laughed. "Hey!!! That tickles!!!"
She giggled. "I think I'll rest here for a bit." She replied, bundling up in Luigi's fluffy beige-colored fur.
"Well come on Weeg... Let's explore this place" Mario said, urging him to get a move on.
"Okie dokey" Luigi replied as he followed him.

Mario and Luigi noticed that all the Pokémon were scared and hiding from something. "M-Mario I-I don't know about this" Luigi trembled. "Are you s-sure we should be going this way."
"What's wrong Luigi?!" Mario noticed Luigi was afraid.
"I-I don't know, all these Pokémon wouldn't be hiding from something if there isn't anything that might hurt them." He said.
"Quit being so paranoid. Nothing's going to hurt us" Mario replied.
"That's what you say" Luigi murmured.
Suddenly out of nowhere, a screech echoed from the sky above them. Luigi ducked behind a rock and trembled.
"Luigi!! Come on! It was probably just a bird" Mario said.
"That was not a bird, Mario. That was a battle cry of a monstrous creature." Luigi curled up into a ball behind the rock. Mario tried to pull him out but he didn't budge.
"It's okay I don't think it's here anymore" Mario said.
Luigi still didn't listen. "How do you know?! It could be tricking us so it can eat us alive?"
"I doubt it! You faced Bowser with me plenty of times, you got to be brave" Mario tried to get him to come through.
"That's Bowser, we don't know what this creature is" Luigi said.
"He might have a point there... I know you can do this . I won't let anything hurt you bro. We just have to go on." Mario said encouragingly.
"But whose going to protect you if something happens?" Luigi asked.
"I'm Super Mario. Nothing can stop me!" Mario stood bravely.
Luigi sat up. "Well, then explain how King Boo managed to capture you and trap you in a painting not once but twice."
"Okay fine, you got a point there, but we can't just sit here and do nothing" Mario stated.
"Okay, okay!!" Luigi finally stood back up. "Happy now?!"
"Yeah" Mario answered.
"I still have a bad feeling about this" Luigi thought to himself as he followed Mario.
