Super Mario Eevee Bros. (Pokémon and Mario Bros. Crossover)

Chapter 23

Mario, Luigi and Lightning were on their way out of the Mansion. When they ran into a certain Klefki.
"Hello Klefki. How was the fight with Haunter?" Luigi asked.

"It went well! I was able to defeat him. He wasn't that hard. Anyways, looks like you've saved Lightning." Klefki replied.

"Yup! We're done with this place, let's get outta here." Luigi told them, they left the Mansion. A Shadow lurked in the darkness. "Eee hee hee! You can never really kill a ghost! We always come back! See you again! You'll be back and we'll be waiting!"

Once they made it outside they're stomachs began to rumble. "We better get some berries to eat, then we'll look for shelter and rest for the night. It's getting very late." Lightning said looking at the dark sky.

Mario and Luigi nodded in agreement and they set off to find some berries.

Lightning gained sight of a Sitrus Berry Bush. "Hey guys, I found some berries!" She told them. She walked towards the bush and picked a dozen of Sitrus Berries off. "Now let's go find a safe place to eat and rest."

After a few minutes of walking, they soon find an empty cave. Lightning gave Mario, Luigi and Klefki a berry. Once they finished, they laid on the ground together to rest for the night.

Lightning's dream:

Lightning was standing on the stony ground with scratches and bruises on her face.

"What happened? Where am I?" She asked. She then remembered something. "Where are the brothers!" She looked around her surroundings. When she heard a familiar cry behind her. She turned around to see Yveltal. The two brothers were being held in his talons.

"You mean these two!" He roared.

Mario and Luigi both collapsed to the ground under her paws. Lightning gasped. "Are you guys okay?" She asked.

"Lightning..." they responded weakly. Luigi tried reaching out to her but he only collapsed again.

"Luigi!" Lightning held him close.

Unexpectedly, the brothers began to turn into stone.

"No... No..." Lightning shook her head in disbelief. She watched in despair as they were turned completely to stone in front of her. Tears began brimming in her eyes.

"Why did you do this to them? They didn't deserve this." Lightning said.

"Yes they did... Now your next!!" Yveltal screeched.

Back in reality
Lightning was tossing and turning in her sleep as she whimpered as well.

Mario and Luigi were awake and looked at Lightning with a worried glance. "Mario, I think she's having a nightmare. Should we wake her up?" Luigi asked.

"Yeah, it would be the best thing to do" Mario answered.

"Oh okay..." Luigi nudged her softly to wake her up.

Lightning jolted awake and used a Thunderbolt. Luigi was instantly shocked.

"Ouch..." he winced in pain before collapsing to the ground.

"Luigi!!" Lightning gasped, helping him up. "Oh my Arceus! Are you okay? I didn't mean to. Y-you startled me. I'm so sorry!"

"It's okay. I'm sorry I scared you. I was trying to wake you up because you were having a nightmare. Do you want to talk about it?" Luigi asked.

"Oh... No, I'm fine" Lightning answered, turning away from him shyly.

"Are you sure? You'll feel better if you talk about it" Mario said.

"Well... I was out on my own in a stony outlook of the forest and Yveltal found me and he turned you two into stone then he was about to do the same to me before you woke me up" Lightning said.

"Oh that's awful..." Luigi quivered.

"Luigi, you're not helping" Mario whispered to him.

"It's alright Lightning, we won't let that happen, we promise" He told her.

"A-Are you sure?" Lightning asked.

"We're sure" Mario answered, putting a paw on her shoulder.

"Thanks Mario... We should be going now. We still have to look for the Tree of Life and hopefully we don't get into anymore trouble on the way" Lightning said.

"You said it, Lightning" Luigi retorted.

"Let's a go" Mario stated.
