Chapter 7:
Rosie
"I'm sorry Rosie, you're just not good enough for me."
"Don't do this to me Noah! You promised." Noah lets go of my hand and walks away. "Goodbye Rosie." I fall to the ground, my hand clutching my chest to keep my heart in place. "Noah don't leave me!" I start crying while Noah disappears. Out of my sight and out of my life forever.
I shook myself awake. Tears cloud my eyes, my eight year old girl tears. I get out of bed and slap on a pair of slim, light denim blue jeans and a lace blouse. I applied mascara, but decided to skip eyeliner for today. I grab my phone and my bag and head downstairs. Lewis is sitting at the kitchen table eating cereal. That's weird, I never catch him here in the mornings. "Hey Lewis. Where's mom?" Lewis finishes his cereal before saying "I don't know. She said she be back in time to take me to school. She left a note on fridge."
I pulled out the milk to serve myself cereal, then took the note. Stupid salesman kept calling. Went to change the house number -Mom. I roll my eyes. Salesman my ass, it was someone much more important. Wait, does mom change the number every time she calls? Is she the one we're running from? A honk from outside startles me out of my thoughts. "Mom's here. Bye Rosie." I wave my hand, "bye Lewis. Have fun!" I quickly finish my breakfast and head out.
Parking in the senior parking lot is much easier than parking anywhere else in the school's parking lot. I've even found my spot where I'll always park my motorcycle. Getting off the bike, I see Noah. I hope he doesn't see me. I keep walking forward, not keeping my eyes off him. I almost reach the campus without him looking when-I crash into someone. The books the guy was holding fall to the ground. "Oh shit I am so sorry." I go down on the ground and help him pick up his books.
"It's ok." The guy chuckles. His eyes meet mine and his kind, blue eyes widen. "S-so what's your name?" I hand him his books. "I'm Rosie." He takes the books from my hands, "well thank you Rosie. I'm Aaron." He runs his hands through his dirty blonde hair. "Here I'll walk you to class Rosie." I smile, "ok."
Noah
Three minutes ago Rosie just bumped into some guy. She walked away with him and I almost went up to her if Cole didn't stop me. "Dude what's your problem? Last night Ashley came by my place and let me tell you, she can sure keep me company. But then she started blabbing about how you wouldn't do her. She claims that you didn't fuck her because you got a text from some other chick. Ashley 's a bit clingy huh? But hey, what's up with not screwing around with her?"
"I wasn't feeling it." I turn away from Cole. "Hey man, I gotta go. Catch you later." I bolt away before Cole even opens his mouth. I rush into campus, looking for Rosie. She's nowhere to be found. Damn it I missed her!
Rosie
I sit in my seat, immediately greeted by Amelia. "Hey Rosie I was thinking maybe we could hang out later. I am in desperate need of girl time!" I smile, "sorry Amelia. I have to meet with Noah at a dance studio so we can practice." Amelia looks at me wide eyed, "the Noah Casanova! He's so hot! And I hear he's great in bed." I roll my eyes, "well I don't care what he is. I didn't even want to be paired up with him."
"Rosie are you crazy! Every girl will envy you for spending so much time with Noah! Every girl wants him."
"I don't want him." Amelia looks at me and shakes me, "then you're crazy!"
Maybe I am crazy. Or maybe I do want him. But that ship has sailed, a long time ago.
