Chapter 9:
Rosie
"Hey Rosie I was wondering if umm well-" Aaron's voice fades as I see Noah making his way towards me. "So do you?" I blink to look back at Aaron. "Sorry what?" Aaron shifts, "do you want to go on a date, with me? Tonight?"
"Oh, I mean I don't know Aaron. I kind of like our friendship. And you're kind of one of my only friends."
"We can go as friends you know?" His eyes pleaded. "Okay fine but as friends." Aaron immediately smiles, "deal. I'll pick you up at 8:00." He walks away. I think I did something wrong. Two warm hands lay on my shoulders. I yelp and turn around. Noah's chuckling at me. I roll my eyes "don't scare me like that!"
"Funny. I don't remember you ever being that afraid. You were Rosie the brave." I smile, "yeah that happened after my dad died. My mom says it's because two men who meant the world to me just...disappeared." Noah looks down, almost guilty. He clears his throat, "so umm...do you wanna go somewhere tonight?"
"Yeah like the studio to practice?" Noah flashes me his dimpled smile, "I mean after that."
"Sorry I have plans later."
Noah looked angry about me having plans. What if he wanted me as much as I wanted him? But he would've told me, right?
Noah
She has plans. She has fucking plans. "You know Rosie. You can't pretend yesterday never happened. It happened and until you say you don't want me, it will happen again." I really pushed it this time. I was just about to take it back, say I was kidding. But I couldn't do that. "You're right Noah. Listen I gotta go, we'll talk later."
Rosie
Two hours. Noah and I dance the first part for two hours. Our bodies were so close together. He spun me and lifted me into the air. His breath warm on my neck multiple times. And not once did he make a move on me. I got on my motorcycle and drove home. I took a quick shower and put on dress pants and a shirt that opens at the shoulders. We're going out as just friends.
Aaron came for me at exactly 8:00. He rang the doorbell and even introduced himself to Lewis and my mom. "You kids have fun." She winked at me and I shook my head. Lewis gave Aaron a disgusted look. At least he's on my side. Even my mom approves of Aaron. But he's too good for me.
Aaron opened the passenger door to his Audi A4. Wow he's a gentleman and must have loads of money. Proving that he has money, we arrive at a fancy restaurant. Definitely not my style. Aaron orders what has to be one of the most expensive things on the menu for me and doesn't accept my cash as an attempt to pay him back. "Do you want to go somewhere?" Aaron escorts me to his car. "Umm...can you just take me back home? I'm not feeling it tonight." Aaron starts the car, "alright."
We arrive at my house and it's not even 9:00 yet. How sucky. Aaron walks me to the door. He shifts uncomfortably. Then, he leans in. Wait, is he trying to kiss me? "I'm sorry Aaron. I totally meant it when I said I wanted to be just friends." Aaron slowly backs away and heads to his car. "Yeah I know. My bad." Great, now I feel bad. I open the door and walk in. "Hey honey. How was your date?" I climb up the stairs, "I'm going to bed."
Would it have been better if I was on a date with Noah? Would I have enjoyed the fact of Noah wanting to kiss me instead of Aaron? I have to get Noah out of me head. He's bad news.
