The closer we got to the apartments, the more nervous I got. What if she says no? I thought. Well, according to Peyton, I had a pretty good shot, but I was still nervous.

I've never asked a girl out before, mainly because of the potential hazard of overriding myself. This time however, I couldn't help myself.

I'll just control myself. I thought. I'll keep my emotions in check. I can do this without overriding myself.

Peyton and Kara hopped out of the car and ran inside the apartment.

"Guys...wait!" I cried. I had no idea where they lived, so they were my ticket. After they disappeared though, I asked someone on the main floor. A few moments later, I found myself right in front if their door.

Here goes nothing.

I knocked three times and stood there awkwardly.

The door opened, and I stood face to face with a tall, skinny dude with light brown hair.

Shoot did someone else beat me to her?!

"Hello." He said, merrily. "Who might you be?"

"I'm Jordan." I said, sternly. "May I speak to Lia please?"

"Sure!" he replied. He turned around and cried, "Lia! You have a visitor!"

I was so confused by this dude. Who was he?

"I'm sorry, but who are you?" I asked.

"Me?" he asked, turning back around.

I nodded.

"Charlie!" he replied.

Wait, what?

"Thanks Charlie." said Lia as she came to the door.

My eyes widened. After Charlie left, I asked. "What happened to baby Charlie?"

Lia looked up at me. "He had a growth chip in him."

"Ohhhhh."

"Yeah, he's like seventeen."

"What?!"

"He's going to be our older brother now."

That seemed okay, but I didn't necessarily like the sound of it.

"So what brings you here?" she asked, learning against the door frame, smiling.

"I uh..."

Shoot I can't do it.

"Yes?"

C'mon, be a man!

"I was uh..."

I started getting a horrible headache. It literally came out of nowhere. This wasn't going as I'd hoped.

"You know," I said, rubbing my temple, "I am just here to see how everything's going with Charlie. Now I see that it's going pretty well."

Lia shrugged. "I suppose."

"I also drove Peyton and Kara home." I said.

Lia furrowed her eyebrows. "Why?"

"So I could see how everything was, here."

"Well, you don't have to bother my sisters to come over."

"I wasn't bothering them. I just drove them home."

"Yeah!" cried Kara from behind. Lia turned around to look at her. "It's was awesome. He has a convertible!"

Lia raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah." I said, blushing and scratching the back of my head. My headache was still getting worse.

"Oh, okay then. Well, thank you, but you don't need to drive them home anymore."

"Don't you have to pay for taxis?" I asked, confused.

Lia shook her head. "Nope!"

I was perplexed "Well, okay then." I said. "See you later."

"See you." she said, then shut the door.

That couldn't have gotten any worse.
