I was fast asleep in my warm cozy bed. It was four until one in the morning, when a loud bang woke me up.
I yawned and sat up in my bed. I was a fairly light sleeper. Things could easily wake me up. I looked over at the door to see if I could spot a light on from underneath the door.
Nothing.
I slowly hopped out of bed and made my way to the door. Puzzled, I turned the knob and walked out into the hallway. It was pitch black. I could only see light from the clock on the oven and microwave.
I walked over to the refrigerator and got out the water pitcher. I poured myself a glass of water and leaned on the cabinets; drinking the whole glass.
After I quenched my thirst, I sat on the countertop, quietly.
I loved the quietness. It was peaceful. When I was alone, I was my real self.
I swung my legs and knocked them against the cabinet doors. I felt very at ease here at night.
Suddenly, I heard a loud whisper go "SHHH!"
Confused, I hopped off the countertop and walked over to the couch where Charlie slept.
I leaned over and he was sound asleep, his mouth drooping open and small stream saliva coming out of his mouth. He was shivering.
I pulled up the blanket that was all the way down by his feet, up to his chin. A couple seconds later, he closed his mouth and stopped shivering.
I ruffled his light brown hair and quietly walked over to Peyton and Gracie's room. I turned the knob, only letting a small squeak be heard, and stepped into their room.
It was quite messy. I tripped over Peyton's text books and almost hit my head on Gracie's science far project that was on the dresser drawers. I looked at both if them and concluded that they were still both asleep.
After quietly walking out if their room, without getting killed from the junk on their floor, I walked into Kara's room. It was basically a storage closet that had been transformed. Peyton didn't mind sharing with Gracie; they had always been best friends, but Kara wanted her own room, and I understood, so I fixed up the closet for her.
The bed was six feet away from the door, so I glanced at her face as I opened the door. She was asleep too. Everyone was asleep, so perhaps the voice I heard came from some inanimate object or was just plain sleep talking.
I shut Kara's door and walked back into my bedroom. I slipped into my sheets and closed my eyes.
I was asleep. I just closed my eyes. I wanted to enjoy the peace before I had to face my fears in dreamworld. Lately, I've been chased by government law enforcement down a slippery hill that lead into a pit of sharks. It was quite weird, but still very scary.
I sighed and turned over on my pillow. I was in that weird state where things in reality can't be differentiated from things in dreams. I was about to fall into a deep sleep, when suddenly, I heard a door squeak.
I slowly opened my eyes. My vision was blurry because my contacts weren't in. There was a figure...I was assuming Peyton...walking over to me.
I grabbed my glasses from the night stand. I carefully looked up and saw a manly figure. A VERY manly figure, more manly than Charlie figure.
I suddenly became very terrified. The man reached his hand out and turned on the light.
I could clearly see the man now. However I didn't recognize him.
He slapped something behind my ear, and my vision blurred. I opened my mouth to scream but nothing came out. It was like a dream. It must've been a dream! I was stuck in a dream.
The man picked me up and carried me out of our apartment. I wanted to slash and kick and scream but I physically couldn't. I closed my eyes, and lost my mind.
What I didn't know though, was where I would actually wake up at.
