I honestly never felt so hopeless in my life. I was tied to a chair, watching the needle stuck in my arm move around, and feeling it's pain as it touched my muscle and veins inside of me.
So this was how it was all going to end, wasn't it?
I wasn't good enough for the universe to hold onto anymore. I was worthless. I hadn't done my destined job.
I closed my eyes, feeling a tear slip down my cheek and onto my lower lip, where I felt it burn into the open wound on my lip
How'd that even get there?
Honestly, I didn't care anymore. I silently cried until there were no more tears, and just a hurt heart.
I wanted to die. I didn't want to live in this world. This time period just wasn't meant for me.
The room was so desolate. There was not another soul around me. There was no one that cared, and no one that would ever want to see me again. Not even my sisters, since I had given up hope that they would come looking for me two days ago.
I sat there, in silence, with my eyes closed, until I heard a mysterious bang.
I gasped, and opened my eyes. The black metal door was...dented?!
My heart began to pound. I didn't understand why, to be specific. I felt some odd mixture of anger, hopelessness, and depression, but also a weird spice of hope.
I heard another bang, and I almost died right on the spot as I watched Jordan punch the door down and run over to me.
"What the heck was that?!" I asked, as he began to ferociously untie me.
"Nothing, don't ask." he responded with, dully. I watched as the blood from his banged-up knuckles smeared onto my jeans. I didn't care anymore. I was being rescued.
Finally, Jordan had me all untied, and I slid out of the chair and collapsed in his arms, practically in tears.
He looked down at me with slight confusion in bis eyes.
"Ow!" I yelled, realizing that the needle was still pricked into my arm. I yanked it out, causing myself to cry out in pain again.
"Are you alright?!" Jordan asked, still looking down at me laying in his arms; confused.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. Tears began falling but I didn't care.
Suddenly though, I pulled back.
"You're...You're a robot!" I cried.
Jordan widened his eyes. "What?! Who told you?!"
"Ricky did!"
"And you believed him?"
"So you're not a robot?"
Jordan went silent for a moment. I gazed into his dark eyes.
"No, I am." He sighed; depressed. "Half robot and half human, actually."
I was shocked. How come I had not known this? I almost fell in love with a robot, who couldn't love, himself!
"So, I guess you're feeling mutual about this predicament." I asked, not sure how I should feel, myself.
Jordan shook his head. "Are you kidding me?!" "I'm so nervous, I could barf!"
I laughed, but then saw the scared look in his eyes.
"Not on me!" I cried, shielding my face from his.
Jordan laughed. "Don't worry, I won't barf on you."
"Wow." I gasped afterwards. "You can actually feel things?"
"I not suppose to." he said. "Because if I feel too much, I'll override my chips, which wouldn't be too good. However I am part human, so there are some slip-ups." He smiled down at me.
"They're down here!" I heard someone cry. Then I heard footsteps running down the low-lit hallway.
I felt a panic attack wash over me. "Jordan, we have to go now!" I was about to climb out of his arms until he stopped me.
"I have impeccable strength and speed, madam, there's no need to get up. I'll get us out of here." He began to look around impatiently for another exit.
I heard more yells of the soldiers running down the hall.
"Hurry!" I whispered.
Suddenly, five men appeared at the door, holding up their shotguns directly at us.
"I've got it!" Jordan cried. He was about to move, when I wrapped my arm around his neck and planted a kiss on him. The soldiers gasped, and began to panic.
"Why'd you do that?!" Jordan cried, his cheeks turning red. He hoisted me up, carrying me bridal style, and made his way swiftly to a back door that had been just unlocked by a soldier trying to see what all the commotion was.
"In case we don't get out of this alive, I want you to know what it's like to feel love."
