Arnav looked at his mother, the lady who was known for her strength, her courage was looking distraughted and torn and it was working as bullets piercing deep in him giving unseen, unhealed wounds. Garima and Shashi had their eyes downcasted but it was Arnav who was feeling ashamed to make them go through something like this.

Being firm and brisk, he looked at Akash, but halted when Payal called him softly-

Bhai.

Arnav turned to look at his sister, there she stood with trembling feature and downcasted eyes.

While Arnav and Akash both looked at her savagely.

Is she really guilty for loving Akash? Does she really consider her love a sin that she has her eyes downcasted instead of having an eye to eye contact while saying anything to her brother?

Still her eyes counting the tiles, she addressed her brother again only to be stopped authoritively-

You aren't asked to speak yet Payal.

Khushi looked stunned at Arnav and Payal too was already afraid, shivered more, making him close his eyes in pain.

But opening it again briskly he said-

Earlier you decided to gulp it down, so, now you will speak a word only when you are asked to.

Right now, its just between me and Akash.

Then looking at each and every one present there, he, the brother, the friend, the king commanded-

No one, I repeat no one, would intervene.

Receiving everyone's including her wife, acceptance, his eyes darted towards Akash again and said-

So, what were you saying?

Ohh, yes, you love my sister, actually you said you will always love her.

Akash looked at him and said straightely-

I will and I am not backing off from my words.

Fine, let me come straight to the point. Arnav said without delaying to reach the purpose for which he is here today with his full family.

He went near Payal. Taking her shivering hands in his and sliding a comforting arm around her shoulder stilled her trembling form. She looked at her brother quizzically and the emotions his eyes depicted made her heart flip.

There, she didn't saw even a tinge of shame, anger, ego, rage or hate. She could just see his care, his concern, his guilt, his determination and his depth of love for his sister.

A gut-wrenching scream dreaded to escape her mouth which she swallowed, not because she was afraid but now she was ashamed.

Ashamed not to give a chance to her, THEIR love.

Ashamed to not keep faith on two most important men of her life.

Ashamed to be a coward even after being strong for long.

Ashamed to let those two men down.

Ashamed to be here, at this stage today.

But then, the tight grip her brother had around her shoulder assured one thing.

Mistakes are going to be rectified.

Longiness has reached its limit of endurance.

Her brother won't let her suffer.

Her love won't let her down.

Her sacrifices, thought useless to say the least and unwanted are going to reward her.
