We, we should go inside Arnav. Khushi said keeping a stone to her heart, confining the tears in her eyes and with an attempt to break the hug which was melting her resolution and her strength.
Why? Why Khushi? Why can't you?
Arnav asked hugging her more tightly to which came her pat, tearful reply-
Because you didnt break my heart.
Arnav stood confused and then stilled hearing her next set of words-
You left no stone unturned to rip it apart.
Abruptly coming out of the hug and at once making a proper distance, confusing Khushi and making her frown, he said with clenched teeth-
Let's go inside.
I am sorry I touched you, hugged you.
Khushi held his hand tightly when he tried to leave and said-
You don't need to be so arrogant.
And you don't need to be so heartless.
Came his pat reply.
Tears long forgotten, helplessness long forgotten. What remained was just their ego and anger upon each other.
Look intensely at each other for few more seconds, they stated in unison-
You know what?
Its useless to talk with you.And with that the never grown Jalebi and Godzilla strode inside while almost pushing each other, competiting to enter inside first.
Two Days Later.
In a grand function, today Akash and Payal are going to be engaged.
The family is too busy in welcoming the guests and looking after the arrangements. More over, as Lavanya is in her third trimester, special care needs to be taken of her as well.
Khushi, being Akash's only sister and Payal's bestie had the most tough time, not only in making the arrangements but helping her Bestie in wooing her would-be husband aka Khushi's brother as well.
Sadly, how hard they tried, it didn't melt the heart of always calm, composed and shy Akash, though, he, with his heart and full enthusiasm is looking forward for their wedding.
As she had said earlier, she is surrounded by weirdest men and her brother proved it yet again and not to mention, her husband, who has turned all cold and arrogant towards her. So much so, that yesterday, when she was about to do her favourite hobby that is, tripping and falling and he caught her at the nick of the time, she mused and tried to act rude.
She has told him that she could have managed and he didn't need to act as her saviour and that's it. THUD. He had carelessly and with flared nose dropped her on the carpet and went away while all she could do was just cuss and stare at him with wide eyes, open mouth and her palms caressing her no-so-in-real hurt back.
If Khushi was more than busy, Arnav was the busiest.
His sister is going to get engaged. People had already started getting their supernatural energy by gossiping about the fake, broken marriage of the Princess and then her engagement with a commoner who happens to be her childhood love.
Yes, people knew it all. Not from any secret agency but because Arnav chose not to hide any fact. He, his sister and his royal family are not doing any crime or sin that they need to hide it. They will give no ears to the rants and accuses and warmly welcome the well-wishes.
He had made each and every arrangement at its best for his choti and her would-be husband.
Not only that, he had to announce two important things in the ceremony as well.
First, would be, Aarav and Anjali's introduction as a part of the family.
And well, the second one is something which would literally sweep away the floor from everyone's feet, the invisible four people's mind and mouth would finally, finally get a long vacation, he would have to face the wrath of the royal community and the biggest shock would be for his family and well, his wifey.
Talking about the royal community, it was quite surprising, when he announced to them about Payal's marriage with Akash and they accepted it gladly with any fuss, without any argument.
How and why?
Is it because, Payal had suffered in a bad marriage and that too in a royal family?
Or is it that girls of the royal families are not bounded by the so-called traditional custom of Royals not marrying Commoners?
Whatever it was, he was incredibly delighted for his sister and had engaged himself more enthusiastically in the preparation for the upcoming.
Akash, with his family had arrived much earlier than the auspicious time. Aman had cut-short his two months long honeymoon vacation and had directly came to the palace with his luggage and newly-wedded, equally delighted wife and then his ranting and whining had stated about how angry he is as he was unaware of their childhood love.
Much after Khushi's pamper, Arnav's glares, Payal's rolling eyes and Akash's ignorant smirk, he was coaxed and since then, the children of the house, Aarav, Lavanya, NK and Aman were busy playing random games while others had been super busy.
Arnav looked at his mother who was busy admiring her kids. He gave her a soft smile and in return received the warmest one.
Getting calls, one after the other, he was once again busy when suddenly he was halted at his place, tears pooled in his eyes while heart fluttered with joy.
There stood his choti looking the most cutest would-be bride, cladded in a red lengha.
Yes, he had seen her like this earlier too but she didn't look this beautiful, this nervous yet this peaceful. The glow of her face was not there. The shine in her eyes were missing and surely her lips weren't stretched into a full blown smile.
And, most important, his, a brother's heart didn't cry in joy and satisfaction at the sight. He looked at his little brother, NK, who resembled his feelings. Even, this was missing the previous time.
He had not been this sure previous time. He knew, he is doing the best.
Closing his eyes to stop the tears from falling down along with his mightiness in front of thousands of people, he took baby steps towards the stairs.
He reached his sister who raised her eyebrows as if asking how does she looks, a gesture his chotu used to do. Being overwhelmed, he kissed her forehead and then holding her hand, along with her, he started descending the stairs.
But in all these, he missed to see his wife's reaction, his wife's tears which were not because of witnessing the scene but something else.
And, if he had looked at her once, who was standing just beside his sister he would have known that instant.
Alas! He didn't.
He was too lost in his sister's happiness and his upcoming announcements.
Akash, after two long days, smiled brightly at Payal who couldn't help but blush standing right infront of me on the stage now.
Arnav went and stood near Khushi who became conscious and nervous.
The Royal Preist started doing the rituals done before engagement while the family, friends and well-wishers simply adored the couple.
But there stood the weirdest couple, both engrossed in their own thoughts of their next step.
But what exactly is it?
