Chapter 15: New school

Luna woke up in her new bedroom. For a minute, she forgot she wasn't in her normal bedroom in Mewni. She was in a guest bedroom on earth in a house living with a boy named Marco Diaz.  She looked out the window to see the sun shining through the blinds.

She gets up slowly, rubbing her eyes. Stretching, she goes to the bathroom to shower. After she showers, she gets dressed and heads downstairs for breakfast.

When she goes downstairs, she sees Marco and his parents sitting at the table.

"Luna! Good morning, I hope you slept well," Marco's mother says smiling.

"Very well, thank you," Luna replies smiling.

"You can sit down, as long as you are staying here, you are a part of this family," Marco's mom says. Luna smiles and sits down. She usually waits for a person to serve her her food, but she knows it isn't like that here.

She reaches for the food, hesitant at first, but Marco's mother nodded giving her permission. Luna takes some eggs and bacon. As she starts eating, Marco says," So, are you excited about your first day of school?" Luna tenses up. She never went to school. She just had a tutor who taught her. "Um...yeah," Luna said looking down at her food. "Don't be nervous, school is easy and fun," Marco reassures.

After breakfast, Luna gets her backpack, that Marco's mom generously bought for her, from her room and secretly, puts her wand in it. She knows there are no threats on earth, but better safe than sorry. She goes downstairs where Marco is waiting. His mother gave him his lunch and then gave Luna hers. She thanks her and heads out the door.

Marco and Luna walk.to school, so that Marco can show her the way. They make it to school where Luna is hesitant at first to enter. "Its ok, there is nothing to be scared about," Marco says grabbing her hand. Luna blushes. Marco clears his throat and takes his hand away. "Sorry," he says quickly. "No, its fine," Luna says smiling.

Marco smiles and opens the door for her. "Such a gentleman," Luna says chuckling. Marco chuckles and walks in after her. They go to their first class of the day.

"Class, this is Luna Butterfly, our new foreign exchange student," Mrs. Skullnick says tiredly. "Hello Luna!" everyone said in unison. Luna smiles and takes the seat next to Marco. Classes were pretty boring. When lunch hit, it was time for Luna to meet Marco's friends.

"Everyone, this is Luna. She is a foreign exchange student staying with me," Marco says. He then looks at Luna. "Luna, this is Alfonso, Fergeson, Jackie and Janna," Marco says introducing everyone. "It is really nice to meet all of you," Luna says.

"I love your high lights! Where did you get them?" Jackie asked.

"Oh..I've always had them," Luna says.

"Natural?" Jackie asked.

"Yep," Luna says smiling.

"Huh," said Jackie getting back to her food.

Luna touches her hair frowning. Was her hair not natural here? She knew she had a combination of her mothers hair with the ends her fathers.

"So Luna, where are you from?" Alfonso asks.
"Are you from a magical dimension?" Fergeson asks. Luna gets taken aback.

"Um..-"

"No, of course she isn't," said Marco laughing nervously. "She's from....Canada." Everyone nods and looks at Luna. Luna looks at Marco and he nods telling her to go along with it. She nods smiling. "Sorry about that, he asks every new student that," Marco whispers. Luna nods and continues eating her food. "So Luna, there is a concert happening this weekend. Love Sentence is playing; ever heard of them?" Janna says. "Can't say that I have, " Luna says.
"Well, you're coming!" Janna says. Luna smiles. "I expect all of you to come as well," Janna says pointing to everyone. "Can't wait!" Jackie exclaims. "Yay! We got invited to something!" Alfonso and Fergeson exclaimed in unison. "I'm down for a concert!" Marco says. He then looks at Luna. "Love Sentence is amazing, you will love them!" Luna smiles. She is making friends. And that is just the start of Luna's adventure on earth.
