Chapter 26: Saving

"Gladly," Shadow Luna said grinning. She looked over at them and laughed manically. "You are all going to die." She lunges at Star and Tom goes in front of him, blocking the attack with a fire ball. He growls with anger. He knows this isn't his daughter. He is angry at what the shadow monsters made her.

He then takes Star and Marco and runs out of the castle. "Cowards!" Shadow Luna yells. Tom didn't care. They ran all the way out of the castle and that is where Tom stopped.  "Tom?" Star asked worried. Tom put his hands on her shoulders and smiled. "You need to get to safety." Star was taken a back. 'What? No! We we need to fight!" "Star, you are pregnant. I don't want you hurting yourself or the baby," Tom said. Star thought for a moment before realizing he was right. In fighting, she could surely hurt the baby. She sighs, a tear rolling down her cheek.  Tom gives her a tight hug. When they lift up from the hug, they kiss deeply. When they break a part, they let their foreheads lean on each other. "I love you," Tom says. Star nods sniffling. "I love you too," she says smiling. Tom gives her one last kiss on her forehead and then Marco and Tom head back to the castle. To defeat the shadow monsters and save Luna.

"So, what's the plan?" Marco asked panting, as they were running towards the castle. "I will defeat Star and I's shadow selves. You can get to Luna; I know if there is anyone to get to her, it's you," Tom says looking at Marco. Marco nods determined and together, they run to the castle.

They run through the doors and into the castle. (I'm running straight to the castle!) They enter to find the shadow monsters just as they were when they left. Shadow Luna turns around and grins. "Huh, so you came back." She then produces a fire ball. "Big mistake." She throws the fire ball at Marco but Tom deflects it and causes it to hit the wall. Shadow Luna growls and produces another fire ball and throws it this time at Tom. Tom deflects it and produces a fire ball of his own. "Luna, I'm your father. You got to listen to me," Tom says pleading.
"Lies!" Shadow Luna shouts.

She produces another fire ball and shoots it at her father. He defects it again, his own fire ball still in his hand.

"I don't want to hurt you Luna," Tom said frowning. Shadow Luna laughs. "That's funny, because I really want to hurt you!" She throws a fire ball at Tom and this time, he doesn't deflect it. It hits him square in the chest and he pummels to the ground. Groaning, he lays on the floor.

That must have done something because just then, shadow Luna groaned and a piece of her glowed. It was her hair and it was turning back to blonde. Marco gasps. "Its working! Luna is going back to normal!" Tom shouts, "Luna! I will never fight you! You are my daughter and I love you forever!" Marco sees more of Luna's natural color come back to her. He decides to give it a shot. "Luna! I want you to know that not being with you has done nothing but bring me pain. I miss your smile, your laugh, even your hugs. I miss it all! I wish you would come back to me!" Luna comes down and Marco goes near her. "I love you, now and forever." He plants his lips on hers and that is when she finally broke free. There wasn't a hint of gray left in her. They stayed their kissing, savoring the moment. After a while, they break a part breathless. "I always know you would come back," Marco says smiling. Luna chuckles. "I knew you would be the one to save me."

They run out of the castle and towards Star who gets super relieved. "Luna!" Star shouts giving her a tight hug. Luna smiles. "I missed you too mom." Tom joins in and they have a nice family hug. Marco smiles at the family who are together again. They see a portal open up and they go through it. When they do, Luna is still laying on the bed. They walk over to her and she opens her eyes, blurringly looking around.  She looks over at her parents and Marco and smiles. "I knew you guys would save me." Her parents and Marco chuckle. Marco goes over to her and smiles. "I'm sorry how we left things. After you went under the dark curse, I was afraid that that.." "Shh," Luna says grabbing his hand as silent tears began to run down his cheek. "Its ok, I am ok and we are together." Marco smiles. "I forgive you, I know now what I feels like to know you have to fight for something you love." Luna smiles. She gets up and they share a sweet kiss; cutting it short since the parents were still there.
