Chapter 21: New Day

Luna stayed overnight in the castle since it was really late. It also gave her a chance to rest and wash up. The next morning, Luna woke up refreshed. She almost forgot how she just left Marco behind while she went to Mewni. At least she stopped the invasion. She knew she had a lot of explaining to do when she got....home. Wait a minute! The whole reason she went to Earth was because of the monster invasion. If the monster invasion is over, that means...she can come home. She sighed. How will she break this to him? She sighed as she sloped out of her room and headed downstairs to the dining hall. There she is met by her parents eating breakfast. When she walks in they look up and smile.

"Hey sweetie!" Star said getting up and hugging her. Tom did the same smiling. "Hey princess."
"Hey," Luna said smiling. She sat down gloomingly and picked around her food. Her parents noticed and frowned looking at eachother. "Um, honey?" Star asked looking at her daughter. Luna looked up and said," yeah?" Star frowned. "Are you alright?" Luna nodded sighing. Star looked over at her husband concerned. "Luna, what's wrong?" Star asked. Luna sighed and looked up with sad eyes.

"Do I have to leave earth?" she asked. "What?" Star said. "Do I have to leave earth?" she repeated. Star sighed. "You know you have no reason to leave now. You can stay with us." Luna sighs. "Luna, is this about Marco?" Luna nods. Star thinks for a moment before knowing a solution. Star looks at her daughter and smiles.

"What if...you stay on earth until you are ready to be queen?"

Luna's face lights up and she had the biggest smile on her face. She jumped up and tackled her mom in the tightest hug. Star chuckled and rubbed her back. Luna sat back down giddy and ate her breakfast happier. Her parents smile glad to see their daughter happy again.

After breakfast, Luna gets up and heads to her room to pack her stuff. Since she sees she is going to be staying on earth longer, she packed more clothes. When she got down, her parents smile hiding their sadness that Luna will be leaving again. "I will visit," Luna assures. Her parents nod understanding. They have a big, tight group hug. Luna takes out her dimensional scissors and with one last smile at her parents, she goes through the portal. She goes through it and she is met by a mad Marco. She laughs nervously before sighing.

Once the portal clears, Luna looks at the floor not wanting to face Marco. "Luna, look at me," Marco says sighing,crossing his arms. Luna looks up and sees mixed emotions on Marcos's face. A mix of relief and hurt. She sighed and says," Marco I needed to go to Mewni to stop the invasion." She sighs. "I missed home and I wanted to stop it so I could go home but, I realised something while on Mewni." She moved closer to him. "And what was that?" Marco asked confused. Luna moves even closer and says," I realised that I love you." She smiles. Marco is shocked for a moment before a huge grin is shown on his face. He picks Luna up and spins her around. Luna giggles. "Marco! Put me down!" Marco puts her down and gives her a passionate kiss. They stay there, savoring the moment. After a moment, they lift for air and sigh, their foreheads leaning onto eachother. "I love you too," Marco says smiling.
