"Ariana! Breakfast is ready!" My brother calls.

"In a minute, Luke!" I struggle to put on my earrings.

"Fuck it." I toss the jewlery on my desk and run downstairs.

"About time." Luke chuckles, handing me a plate and utensils.

"I was having trouble with my earrings, alright?"

"Whatever. Just eat, we're gonna be late for school." He pushes the pancakes towards my direction.

You see, my parents and his parents both died in a car crash. We were only 12 at the time, so our minds were still processing of what was happening. It just all went by so fast. One hour, they were kissing us goodnight, then the next they die in a crash. It really hit me hard. Just to think that I'm gonna be an orphan for the rest of my life. Luke didn't take it so easy either. Luke really isn't my brother, but I like to label him that, because he's like one to me. We were and still are pretty close to eachother. He's all I have left.

I'm turning 18 this month, and the following month, he's gonna be 18. We both go the same school, same grade, same house. He takes care of me, I take care of him. Simple as that.

I finish my meal and set the plate in the sink. I run upstairs to grab my backpack, running back down to see him standing there on his phone. "Ready?" He clicks his phone off, stuffing it in his black skinny jeans. I nod my head, following him out to his car.

The car ride was silent, but it always is. I actually like it.

I shuffle through my backpack and open up my phone to listen to my music.

The sound of All Time Low's song, Somewhere In Neverland, starts to play and it's like heaven is ringing through my ears.

"I got band practice at Mikey's today. You okay walking home, or do you wanna tag along?" Luke asks.

"I'll go home. Have fun at Michael's, rockstar." I mess up his hair and run to homeroom.

"Okay class, before you go to next period, as you know, summer is around the corner. So it's gonna be a busy month for us. Finals, prom, graduation, and my favorite, community service." The teacher smiles.

The whole class groans, muttering about how the test is gonna suck and community service is stupid. But honestly, I can't wait to do all of that, so I can get it over with.

The teacher hands us paperwork,"Here you have is the community service checksheet. Fill out only one, unless you want to have more jobs, then be my guest. Have a parent or guardian sign this and turn it in by Wednesday. Now off you go." She shoos us off.

I sling my bag over my back and walk out of class, blending in with the students.

I view over the sheet.

I neatly fold the paper and rush off to my next class.

The whole day went by quickly. I saw Luke hanging out with Ashton by the parking lot. "Are you sure you're okay walking home alone? I mean, I can take you-"

"No, it's fine. You go off and rock out." I kiss his cheek. "See you later, Luke, Ash." I wave off and walk the opposite direction.

I scroll through my phone, until someone bumped into me. I nearly fell, but I had the power to stand up.

"Hey, watch it." I clutch tightly to my phone, looking up.

He had beautiful green eyes, and soft, brown curls. He wore a Rolling Stones tee, and tight black skinnies, ones like Luke's.

"M'sorry." He barely whispered.

The boy just continued to walk away, not saying another word. I took this time to admire his features. He seems about my age, but he was so tall.

I watched him until his figure disappeared from the streets, and I just shook it off, walking home.

He was good looking, if I do say so myself. But whatever. It's not like I'm gonna see this kid ever again.
